I heard they do that shyt to their drivers during snow. They would have them show up to work, only to be sent home so they can drive back home on the ice and risk their lives on some bullshyt...that shyt should be illegal

Lol i dont wanna sound like a rolling advertisement for these nikkas, especially cuz i havent been there in 3 years...but this shyt doesnt happen either.
The only time something like this would happen is if the weather just got bad unpredictably.
Now management...management lolhad to come in, in the middle of a blizzard or hurricane and call mothafukkaz...and or process some of the next day air shipments.
And getting back to being sent home, you were guaranteed 3 hours if you came in on time and got sent home...only time you didnt get paid is if you went home voluntarily or you were late...
That job was cake now that i think about it...whoever told you this shyt didnt read their union contract plain and simple.
Steal dome boxes on your day off
what do you mean went home voluntarily?
I give you a scenario so you get the picture...my shift did 200-250k boxes a night average...towards the end of the week, the volume would roll off, to 150-180k...i had a team of 15...most these cats were college students, construction workers, i had a tattoo artist, or just some cats who couldnt get anything else for work
I would give a mtg every day and state the volume...around thursday the volume would roll off and we'd ask people do want to go home; being that most mfers at ups are hodge podge of what i stated above...you would have 3-4 ppl off the bat that wanted to leave immediately. They werent there for the money...and ups doesnt even play like other corporations try to...you cant live off that shyt, its a mutual unwritten agreement. Sometjmes the shyt gets lean right after the holidays and you get sent home, but the seniority aspect came into play...like every other union shop in the usa.
Oh, well I never had that happen, I would just show up to work, and they send me home...the sup said he would call me if there was any work....he hasnt called me the whole week, so I aint show up...if he expects me to be there on some unwritten agreement type shyt because I dont want to waste my gas money...well I will find a different part time job to get extra cash....
Pull your union book out and talk to a steward...either they arent following the policy or your union sux.
