So UPS can send you home when you show up to work

and say they have no work for you, and that they will call you when they need you, so when you follow those orders, and you dont show up to work to get told "there is no work for you", its your fault that you havent been attending work? How does that make any sense? Do they want you to waste gas or some shyt?

Yea I knew it, I already have a steady job so I just wanted to get more cash on the side...its just funny how they try to play them games like you the one that aint wanna work... but they the ones that tell you aint no work for you in the first place lol

I've had it happen to me in retail (WOAT job btw)... they're tryna push you to quit.

I think that's bullshyt. they should at least compensate you for your time and travel expense for showing up that day.

if they're gonna pull that, they need to call you on the phone or text or something so you don't waste ur time/gas going to the gig to find out you're not gonna be needed that day.

I heard they do that shyt to their drivers during snow. They would have them show up to work, only to be sent home so they can drive back home on the ice and risk their lives on some bullshyt...that shyt should be illegal

So how does a friend have a 2nd job if their employment is seemingly on an on call basis.

I havent been there for some time...but i can assure you no one is on call. And rarely does someone get sent home when they come into work....and most shifts are scheduled so you can have another job.

Twilight is 6pm
Midnight is 11-12am
Preload is 4 am
Day is 10-11am

I was a worker and a supervisor there for 8 years...no job is going to perfectly accomodating to the worker, but i worked 12-20 hours a week, sometimes more if i wanted it, and less if i didnt. And i had another gig to hold me down. And $0 copays on my benefits...not a bad deal to toss around some boxes and get some exercise for a couple hours a day.

Again...this how union jobs work...you work when there is work, if your on the low end of the seniority list you get sent home when there isnt shyt to do.
