There were Folks in Brooklyn since the 90s.I came in ready to clown OP cause most “Brooklyn Drill” imitates Chicago Drill(the Original Drill music). With the slang and Claiming Folks and all.
But after hearing the song it does kind of sound more like the UK version of Drill.

That's true, but only a fraction of these dudes--usually Jamaican--have fam over there. Most of these dudes are Ados, Haitian, Panamanian etc also. And an even smaller percentage actually traveled even outside of the tri-state area.
They don't even really listen to foreign local shyt on the internet. Only whoever is hot mainstream or in our city.
Hell, I WISH they'd copy some uk shyt. At least it would be different from all this Chicago drill shyt.

90 percent of the drill shiit is down right awful from a rapping perspective, beats are fire, vids are usually lit.
Sheff G, Sleepy Hollow, 22 are actually good. Pop Smoke can make songs(gotta give him that).
