He is an awful coach. It's really that simple. They thumped OKC in OKC too since they :birdman:

Are you fukking kidding me. Avery's rotations where awful. Dude had Swag and Tele buried on the bench.. And the starters quit on him. Never mind his politicking within the Org.

I am going to go out on a limb and say you have not watched more then 2 nets games this year. That can be the only excuse for this god awful thread.

fukk you're a awful poster.

He didn't get fired because he lost to shytty teams, so even if he had been able to do well in a stretch against them, it wouldn't have proven anything. The team tuned him out and the games were all too similar (go up early, blow the third quarter, proceed to lose)

If it was calculated to be do anything, state what it is. They're still paying him. They have an interim coach they're bound to replace. Avery's not a great coach, but part of why he got fired was that they couldn't fire D-Will.

im not arguing whether or not he did a good or bad job as coach.

my thing is, how do you win coach of the month, then turn around and get fired weeks later?

you seriously dont think that they hurried up and fired him before this inevitable win streak that theyre on? obviously theres more than meets the eye here.

theres better teams who have had worst slumps this season. they wanted avery out of there as fast as possible.

Coach Popavich on Avery:
“Of course, many of us were surprised to see what happened in Brooklyn. From my perspective, Avery’s not a good coach, he’s a very good coach. He’s a hell of a coach. He’s proven that. There aren’t too many of us out there who have ever won 67 games in a season. He’s taken a team to the Finals. If my memory serves me correct, he was Coach of the Month. It sort of shows what a fickle, volatile business we’re in. We all know that. Avery knows that, too.

“You think about coaches … I believe Dean Smith, they did a little effigy in his honor in the beginning when things weren’t going well. Johnny Wooden had a rough patch in the beginning. Mike Krzyzewski, arguably our best coach we have in basketball today, things didn’t go very well in the beginning. He had an AD who was smart enough to know what he had. He exhibited a lot of patience, so now you see where Coach K is. I think we all understand that. But circumstances, especially in the NBA, have a whole lot more to do with firings than how well or how poorly a coach did. It’s unfortunate. But we all move on, including Avery."
