Being a fan of West Coast NBA and MLB teams living out East sucks.
Only the NFL season is convenient for my schedule,
I never liked 10am start times for NFL Sundays.

They're not going to sacrifice the majority and core of their audience for a small percentage of folks on the other side of the country. That would be dumb. Even if it starts at 9:30, you're expecting an entire coast to get off of work, commute either directly to the game or make that pitstop home first, and be in attendance by 6:30, their time? And then you still have the same problem for the EST games, in that they will miss those because they started at 4 PST. 8 & 1030 is fine. You're still getting that maximum window of audience.
If you care about those teams, just stay up or record it. It has been like this for decades.

And yes as a viewer it's complete ass for games to be starting that late......and by the way THE shytS DONT EVEN EVER START AT THE STATED TIME...they always start later.....

I'm on the west coast and shyt, the nuggets/wolves game is too late for me. But I'm flat top status.
And what about the basketball fans that work at night, or the begin with an overnight shift? How do you pacify their schedules? Because it would be the same for them as on the other side of the world.
And there's about a 15 min delay in start time than the scheduled time. There's a running clock at the game. But this delay also exists in football, whenever you see their 1:10 and 1:15 games. US TV is blocked by hour or half hour marks, so...those are essentially 1pm games.
