Or have him start pitching in may?
They look great future wise but ask the Mets in 06 playoffs aren't promised every year

Exactly. Why would they go about business as usual knowing they planned on shutting him down after a certain point? For the life of me I don't understand how they didn't either start him later or have him skip a couple starts throughout the season. Especially when it became apparent that they were as good as they are you would think they would have put measures in place to ensure he'd be available in the playoffs.

Wherever whores go.....
You idiots back when the season started they had no clue they would be in a playoff spot
2nd he was coming off TJ surgery
3rd - That means you shut him down all of spring training and then put him on a spring training schedule 2 months after everyone else

I think the Phillies issue this year was injuries. Howard and Utley missed most of the season, and Cliff Lee has been getting unlucky by having little run support. Plus now that they traded Victorino and Rollins had his issue wit the manager yesterday, it seems like they just gave up and will try again next season. As far as the Nats being even money to make the playoffs, that could be true, but the NL East was such a difficult division that every team was projected to compete or atleast make it a pennant race. I wonder if 2 teams from same division can be in wild card. Even tho I hate the new format. Should be like the NFL playoffs, with 5 game series first round and 7 game series after that. Shoot ESPN the Magazine even had the Marlins projected to be a Wild Card. :snoop:

can someone explain this to me....why are they shutting him down and with the nats finally making the playoffs why dont they want him helping the team

why not shut him down in july or earlier this month and then use him for the playoffs

Because they are smart, this is what could have happened to their franchise player if they did like the team that play in the Fall and Winter.

This shyt is not even remotely the same

RG3 was injured before the game and re injured himself again during the game

Strasberg was 100% healthy when the nats shut him down

Lol @ thinking that shutting your best pitcher diwn for the playoffs is smart

I always say when you have the opportunity to win now you take it...next season isnt promised

The nats could be world champs right now but they're not cause they was more worried about the future then winning now

He just had a major injury and they were looking at the long term and not the short term. Shanny had no interest in RG3 career. He just trying to win Football games. You traded three 1st round picks for him. Better treat him like treasure.

When you have a Lebron or face of the league franchise player, you will get there again. Cam has never gotten there and I can guarantee if he's alive, he will get there.

nikka this aint the nba

Marino made the superbowl in his 2nd year and never made it back...there are no guarantees in football breh you should know that by now

Remember when Phillip Rivers played in the afc championship game with a torn acl and it was people saying the same shyt you saying about the future and he would have more opportunities to win blah blah blah and now look...doesn't look like Phillip will get another legit shot anytime soon

That why I say when you close you go for it cause next year and the future is not guaranteed
