Cuban sold the team in large part to build a new casino/arena in the future. Irving is the rumored location with the Stars possibly joining them, so not happening imo

The Adelson's are hardcore MAGATS but they're still Joos and this is still Texas. They don't have that kind of pull. Cuban should have linked up with a good ol boy oilman. Someone with Longhorn or Aggie ties with more pull. Hell even a Dallas/SMU big shot with deep pockets.

Ain't no Yankee Joos getting a casino built here when Louisiana business cacs AND Oklahoma Native chiefs can put money in Texas congressional pockets to keep gambling out of the state.

They want to be competitive enough to possibly still get an arena/casino...but if it doesn't happen within 2 years, they can tank more easily and move out of the state. With Luka, you'll always be around 50 wins and "competitive" and they didn't want that. They want to be solid for a small window and then they can pivot depending on what happens. Throw $$$ into the team if the casino/arena gets approved in DFW....but they can more easily gut the team and move if it doesn't work within a couple of years.

Jerry Jones is the happiest mafukka right now. Mavericks ain't never been able to shut down Cowboys and/or Super Bowl talk in Dallas...even in Dirk's best years.

Just a few years ago las Vegas was banned from having a commercial in the superbowl...a few years later Vegas hosted the Superbowl
