yes, but those developed under french rule. the whole concept of creole is latin. the us assigned social position according to the legal status of the mother. if she was a slave, the child was a slave too. french and spanish colonies had a more complicated code that differentiated a persons rights by where they were born and the degree they were mixed. this created a social hirachy with fully whites born in europe on top, followed by whites born in the americas (the original creoles), followed by mixed people and fully black slaves at the bottom. mixed people could make it to certain positions of power and influence, especially by acquiring fortunes through trade. they could also own slaves themselves. as a result, the interests of mixed people differed from those of black slaves, which is why they didn't unite with them against white rule and tried to defend their privileges against black slaves fighting for freedom. this system was designed because the population in spanish and french colonies consisted of only a few whites and mainly black slaves and mixed people. so in order to prevent them from uniting against the white masters, the colonialists applied divide and conquer tactics. the us never had to do this, because the white population there was much larger.
again, you didn't read the book and have a poor grasp of history. the egypt campaign was about many things, among them napoleons ego, trade with india and the governments attempts to keep him away from paris. first you argued that he was defending french colonialism and when that turned out to be wrong you changed that to he was defending the slave trade. anyways, you're trolling, i'm done arguing with you
