So nobody gonna talk about how Kyle Pitts has been a bust so far :mjpls:

There have been a couple of TEs in the last few years who...on paper...should have been more productive.

Kyle Pitts is probably #1.
But I would say OJ Howard, Jordan Reed, Tyler Eifert, Evan Engram, David Njoku, Hayden Hurst, and Noah Fant have all disappointed for the most part.

You could give guys like Eifert, Engram and NJoku somewhat of a pass because for a month or two, they've looked really damned good.
I'd probably toss Eric Ebron in there because he was a Top 10 pick.

And this might be a reach but I thought Austin Sefarian Jenkins would have been a hell of a lot better than he turned out to be -- at least from what I'd read about him at the time.
Njoku is a beast

hes elite, one of the most underrated players in the league

TE is a tricky position because toughness matters just as much as physical talent

alot of the guys you named didn’t pan out because they were soft

Yeah that's fair.

Njoku, when healthy (and let's face it, he hasn't had the best QB to play with) has looked impressive.
I'd even say Engram looked a lot better in JAX than he ever did in NY.

But you have to be on the field to produce. And they've been dinged up quite a bit.

I might say that Noah Fant is a weird situation where...he kinda got hurt but even when he returned, he didn't regain his focal point in the offense in Denver or Seattle. At least not to the degree that I think he should have been utilized.

What's the issue here? Scheme? Can't get open? He sucks?

How many OCs has he been with in ATL? 2?
Zac Robinson is a Sean McVay acolyte. They don't target the TE in his system.

There's talent with Pitts. He had 60 catches for over 1000 yards receiving as a rookie. He had that nasty knee injury year 2 which seemed to derail him a bit.

They should just trade him and cut their losses.

Also to add on to that, since he's not really separating that well, Cousins isn't all that inclined to throw him the ball. He's got his moments when he isn't, but for the most part, Cousins typically doesn't feel comfortable throwing to receivers with tight coverage on them. The 4th and 8 against the Giants in the playoffs where he throws short of the sticks to, ironically, TJ Hockenson instead of just throwing it to Justin fukking Jefferson is a prime example. Yes I'm still mad about it.

Solid chance that he's just not being schemed to be open enough for Cousins to target him, and he's not being physical enough to fight himself open on the routes he's getting.

:manny: Ill take my L

He seems to lack the fire but who the f knows

I assumed hed develop into at least an adequate in-line TE but that never happened. Hes still just a big WR

Never gets a lot of separation as a receiver

A big WR who is making contested catches when thrown to is kinda phased out in todays NFL. Separation speed and route running is valued over contested catches . TEs with great hands are kinda not getting the catches/numbers nowadays.

Its sad as I thought hes a surefire thing but it is what it is
