What I don't understand is why democrats stay home and don't vote in midterms, then they bytch when things don't go their way.
Only showing up for presidential elections won't cut it :patrice:

IMO, voting should be easier than standing up in polls. In the era of the internet, there should be an option to vote from home and your vote going through.

if you honestly believe that the gop will win the senate this year, you're delusional and smoking some hard drugs. dems probably won't win back congress because of gerrymandering, though they will see a net gain of seats in the house, just like they had a net gain in 2012 (and republicans had a net loss). but the gop is not going to win the senate. it's march. as we approach november, the right wing extremism of the republicans will continue to turn off much of the country and voters will support the dems when go into the voting booths. gop is a dying party.

count on it.

If democrats show up, they win. Simple as that. There are more dems than repubs now.
The problem is they don't show up in midterms. The difference in turnout between 2010 and 2012 was huge. They won the House back in 2006 only because of the Iraq war backlash.
They only care about presidential elections but they don't realize that the president can't accomplish much without Congress.

That aint much different from 2008 - 2014 :manny:
has has been a complete and utter failure.

Let's keep it 100.
The democrats will be done for ever when IRS starts calling and seizing people's income because of the healthcare mandate

The white population and the GOP is shrinking. In another 30 years, they will disappear from society and become Whig party status.

at this point the democrats have few options to stave off the gop before the midterms to gain some momentum. they have to back the gop into a substantive discussion on immigration reform and also tell people the truth about how much more gov and policy will be fukked up until 2016 if the gop gets the house and the senate. they'll have to go the fear mongering route the gop has been using against them.

the gop wants no part of an immigration reform discussion because it exposes them to the very people they need to stay home during the midterms. and their record on legislating and shutting down the gov speaks for itself. they've been nothing but complainers and offered up no real solutions.

if they win the senate and the house i can pretty much guarantee they'll waste a bunch of time and money trying to repeal obamacare and the rest of the time they'll be looking for ways to impeach obama and do the best they can to ruin his legacy. then they'll sit back and blame obama/democrats for how bad things are going into the 2016 election.

if the gop gets house and senate maybe obama will go into middle finger mode and really start doing some sh1t though.

Who cares? What part of his agenda required the Senate? This is exactly what he wants, to do nothing. It at least looks acceptable when he does nothing for the working class when the Congress is red. They'll probably fukk up SS and Medicaid on some bi-partisan shyt too :gag:.

No tin foil, but sometimes I wonder if shyt like this is just meant make us all commit ourselves to one side or the other without serious consideration for another alternative... if so, it's a damn good tactic :to:

Democrats are younger and have lives, they are drawn in by celebrity.

Notice nearly all political comments on websites are made by geezers and people with no lives.

Nate Silver is rarely wrong. He's a statistical wunderkind. Chances are the GOP will win the Senate and will likely win the presidency soon after. Prepare thyself: winter is coming and she will bring all the wrath and rae she can muster. You think some of what the GOP says and entertains is bad now, wait till they are in power again. Save up that money, brehs. :merchant:
