did yall really think a bunch of internet posts were gonna do it? Let's be real, these boycotts aren't nearly as organized and pushed as they were in the 60s. We need urgency. Not just "if you participate in this, you're a c00n." I know several black leaders have talked to it but next year we should work on stressin our point and really building a machine behind the cause.

:manny:Ah well. Rainbox Six Seige beta just started. I loaded, haven't played it yet. Hopefully it makes me feel better about skipping Battlefield hardline.

I tend to stay away from first player shooting games. Unless it's Golden Eye on the N64  but anything else that resembles military warfare I avoid it like the plaque, ironically. I also suck at them. :coffee:

As much as I love my people; we've got to come up with something better than, "don't spend on holidays."
Dawg...
:wow: I had to rep you for this.

I was having a debate with @The II XX about consumerism and I said consumerism and materialism is killing the black community cause of stuff like this. It went to the whole "white people do it too" rebuttal which I absolutely hate. Because it's 100% ignorant of facts.

White people own the companies that produce the products. White people have collective wealth stacked up from generations that's passed down from generation to generation through wills, trust funds, inheritances, bonds, etc so it keeps on going and that's been going on since this country started hundreds of years ago when blacks were still slaves. The wealth gap between blacks and whites has widened tremendously to the point the average wealth for the white household is $100,000+ and the average wealth for the black household is not even $6,000 dollars. And that's taken into consideration the fact that blacks were disenfranchised from creating wealth from FDR's new deal programs, to redlining and so on and so on. They can be materialistic cause it's not hurting their pockets as much as ours.

We barely own anything in this country collectively. We spend trillions each year and it all goes back to whites. They've been able to go from point A to Z and not skip a letter...we're trying to go from point A to Z and think we can easily skip B through Y. And shyt, it's not like we're even in a financial situation that can be compared to any other group. The majority of Asian countries produce the products we consume so they can sell it on the low and build up their own wealth and incomes. Spanish countries have production facilities that produce products from US and EU companies. WE don't even own any factories or produce any products.

Combined with gentrification, the rising cost of living, and the ever changing job market, trying to consume to keep up with the jonses to stunt couldn't be any fukking dumber man...

Like seeing brehs driving sports cars but still renting apartments. Women buying luxury goods but are living paycheck to paycheck..it's like people don't want to see it cause it's depressing and that's why they consume to feel good about themselves like they "made it".

I love my people but what I realize in more ways than one is cats have to love themselves first before they understand but perhaps more importantly comprehend the severity of this. As someone else pointed out cats really don't see the bigger picture. this could really help propel some of our demands Not prayer sessions, not marching and definitely not twitter fingers. If you fukk with their money and their livelihood- yes you will see change- all that other shyt is useless. Also there is no real urgency to the issue.

I didn't personally participate but again I'm the type of person who practice what he preach and try to put forth an effort in everything I do. If I feel that a stance could potentially better my life why not but again it goes back to what more important.

Black people cant even do something simple as sitting at home and enjoying their family...what else should we come up with :dwillhuh:
Man...ya know. Sometimes I just feel like saying "fukk it". Like really "fukk it"

As in just enjoyin life, fukk bytches, pawg hard, blow trees, get money, follow your dreams, don't worry about anyone else except friends and family and if anybody else wants to get with the program and try to change themselves, let em do it on their own. It's obvious that even with our situation people just want to live their lives and not think about it cause it's real a buzzkill so there's no point trying to preach or guilt trip anybody. Eventually they'll reach a moment where they'll finally start processing what's going for themselves and take the appropriate actions to better their situation and be proactive to help themselves and others.

It's obvious whenever me or others try to talk game it bums them out so let em live. I'm pretty sure we all just want to live comfortably and have the things that we need but unfortunately due to circumstances out of our control that we didn't create, really, we can't. I guess ignorance really is bliss.:yeshrug:
