:what:

They aint even talking about discussing dates for the future though. This is an OBVIOUS duck like I said he would do:heh:

I thought Maidana said would be ready to fight on Floyd on May 3rd......but now, since he has to take the rematch against AB, he's unable to fight a WEEK earlier on April 26th because he wont have enough time to train or see his baby born? But again, he would be ready for May 3rd though right:russ:

nikka, if you scared say you scared and give us back the belt:ufdup:

Look at Maidana yall:dead:

Why are you in such a rush to see dude get beat again? I thought you were a fan?
He convincingly whooped Broner's ass so there is no reason to duck because the same outcome would happen again. This is a negotiation tactic to either win the Floyd Sweepstakes or barring that get GBP to cough up more money for the Broner rematch.

But don't worry...you will get to see ya boy get beat the fukk up again before long because I don't see Floyd fighting Maidana so before summer time Chino will be mollywhomping Adrien all over the ring again.

I'm not a fan, bc I want to see my fighter face his toughest opponent again in a rematch?:what:

I'd be more of a fan if I wanted AB to skip a rematch and not fight the best person he's ever fought again? :wtf:

Sorry....Ima old school boxing fan. I believe if someone beats you, you should try and avenge your loss as soon as possible:manny:

That is all well and good for Broner...he has something to prove since he was the one who got his ass beat and lost a lopsided decision. What is the incentive for Maidana to fight Broner again? Especially without trying to see if there are better options for him first?
Which is why Maidana is using time tested negotiating tactics to get a better deal for himself. If Broner and GBP are so desperate to have this immediate rematch then I expect Maidana's camp to continue to appear disinterested until they get the deal they want for the fight.

It doesn't matter what the incentive is. Maidana SIGNED a contract that stated if Broner lost, AB gets the opportunity to take an immediate rematch:ufdup:

Why don't y'all understand this?:mindblown:

If Maidana didn't wanna honor that, he shouldn't have signed the contract:manny:

All this other stuff y'all talking is just that.......talk. A signed agreement is in place and Maidana really has no choice but to either: Rematch Broner, pay Broner a "step aside" fee in order to face Floyd, or hope AB just moves on to another fight bc Maidana is sitting out too long. That's it.

Maidana can ask for more money, yes, but again.....he can't fight anyone else without paying Broner to step aside or Maidana vacates the belt.

Unless that agreement has a date in place of when the rematch is to happen then what Maidana is doing is perfectly reasonable. Broner and GBP are the ones who want the fight ASAP which gives Maidana leverage in negotiations. Take two steps back and leave your stanning for Broner aside and you would see that this is just a fighter trying to maximize his earning potential and exercise some control over negotiations.

I understand he wants more money......that's totally fine, acceptable, and should be expected. He's the Champ now and should be paid more than he was in the 1st fight.

Other than that, Maidana has NO leverage. Rematch clauses are binding up to 1 year after the fight. Is Maidana willing to sit out to next year?:mjpls:

He only has those options I gave you: Pay Broner to step aside, Vacate the belt, or hope Broner just moves on and waives the immediate rematch.

Only thing Maidana can do is ask for more pay than he received previously. Right now, he's stuck. He cant fight anyone else:manny:

I expect the rematch to happen but I think that Maidana's camp is willing to stall a bit to try and see if they can secure a fight with Floyd (which would be worth paying a step aside fee and dropping the belt).

I agree with this. If Maidana CAN get Floyd, he should take it. He'd probably make more in his fight with Floyd than he would make in both fights with Broner.

Fighting Floyd is an once in the lifetime fight for every fighter. I would have NO problem if he takes the Floyd fight instead, because that would be better for him and his family.

:comeon:

He won't be doing that again unless it is a mexican or mexican descent fighter and September 16th falls on a weekend or on a monday... Helps to sell out at the gate in the first few days because Mexican fans come in droves to see a Mayweather fight hoping that their fighter beats him., September 16th is Mexican Independence Day. but it falls on a Tuesday this year.

He fought Ortiz and Canelo on Mexican Independence Day Weekend.

Therefore it doesn't make money sense to fight in September, Floyd will likely wait until November/December to fight again after a May fight.
