All he has to do is hit his free throws. No reason why he shouldn't hit them at least 60 percent of the time. With practice and repetition you can make yourself a decent shooter. Drummond just isn't addressing this part of his game as much as he should.

When the game turned into a hacking farce, I turned the tv off and my team ended up winning. It's a joke, and I hope it turns many playoff games into farces with fans tuning out so the league will act

Hack a player doesn't work and NEVER HAS. It has backfired since Lakers blazers 2000

The Pistons would shoot 59 free throws in the game, 36 by Drummond. Drummond would shoot 13-for-36 from the free throw line. The rest of the team: 22-23. As a matter of fact, it was from the free throw line that the Pistons won the game. The Rockets would shoot 16-for-18 from the free throw line, James harden 12-for-12 alone. The Pistons outscored the Rockets by 19 from the free throw line. As a matter of fact, without Hack-a-Dre, the Pistons could have lost this game.

Yeah I think this sort if thing is cynical and against the spirit of the game
It is. NOBODY will miss this shyt if they ban it. None of us will be bouncing our grandkids on our knees talking about the time [INSERT NAME] shot 30+ free throws in a game and missed 18+ or clamoring to see that nonsense ever again.

u can say that because we still got the W but It kinda worked for rockets yesterday during that stretch they went 15-1
It doesnt work against players like Deandre jordan or howard cuz they still like 50-60 percent FT shooters and howard made like 14/18 FTs their last game
But when a nikka be shooting as bad as andre drummond it works cuz it takes him longer to get into the rhythm and him getting in rhythm is him going 1/2 :snoop:

and whats worst is now teams have found a way to do intentional fouls even in last 2 minutes of the 4th quarter so during close games they still have to take him out during plays and when someone shooting freethrows they make him stand at 3pt line so teams dont try to do over the back on him

My piston fandom in me obviously plays a part in this and I am most definitely feeling some type of way...

But what the fukk...

If you want to follow me every time he touches the ball that's fine, if we lose games due to his free throw shooting, as we have already probably lost at least two of them solely on that, that should just provide incentives that he needs to get his shyt together before this costs us in the long run.

But what the fukk...

This really is a disgrace to basketball, what the Rockets tried tonight. To not even let the other guy touch the ball and allow him to give up possessions therefore not allowing the pistons to take jump shots for 5 to 10 minutes at a time.

It really reminds me of all that garbage the Yankees and the Red Sox would do to prolong games to the point where they were unwatchable.

What the fukk...

Needless to say the Pistons ended up scoring nearly 70 points in the second half anyway thanks to some terrific Houston defense and great hustle plays that help the Pistons capitalized into points.

I think the Pistons ended up with only a handful of legitimate called fouls in order for our real FT shooters to close the gap. Those refs were pretty lax.

This will be a trend for the rest of the year, and its going to prolong these games to where they will be straight clown shoes.

HOWEVER.

With all that being said, Drummond should really be embarrassed and ashamed of himself.

Even SVG was blaming the league after this one bro

As I've pointed out before, if you are giving a player free throws and he shoots 50 percent, you have to shoot 50 percent on the other side just to keep up.

He dont shoot 50 tho he shooting 35
and why it worked for rockets was they would run off his missed FTs and attempt quick shots before pistons and drummond set up defense, thats how harden got a triple double half way through the 3rd quarter all those fast breaks and missed free throws

That's why if they did nothing but put him on the free throw line, they could win. and 35 percent is probably at the point where hackashaq could work, except when you account for your own inability to run the court, your players getting in foul trouble, opposing players that can get to the line easier because they are in the bonus and hitting free throws.

My point is that even statistically, hacking was a stupid idea, especially with Shaq since he was shooting 50 percent or so. In his case, however, him shooting free throws at 50 percent was worse than him hitting field goals at 58 percent, and he usually was getting the bucket and the foul.

If you are going to hack a player, you have to be perfect on the offensive end.
