I lived in my car for a few months...lemme give you some advice.

1. You need to get on govt assistance asap. Food stamps ect..i mean go as soon as you can, like tomorrow morning and get in line. The sooner the better.

2. Since you have a job... Look for somebody looking for a roomate or sublease

3. If you cannot do number 2 yet, check out the local hostels or shelters

4. Lighten your load, sell what ever you don't need. If you can't fit it in your car, sell it. It will make your life alot easier...

5. Stop eating out (no fast food) it will eat through your money quickly if you're eating it every time you get hungry... buy a small cooler packs of bottled water and start making sandwiches...change out the ice daily.

6. Get a gym membership. a $10-$15 a month one or the YMCA and take all of your showers there.

7. Save enough money to get out of cali....go down south. Houston has a great job market and cheap apts all over the city.

you gotta find a hostel that will take you even if you dont have a passport. i remember staying at one in Venice Beach for a week when i was between places and the overwhelming majority of the people there were Americans who basically got on a bus from wherever they were from and decided to come to LA. but it was just okay and like $20 bucks a night. if you wanted your own room it was more $. Alot of the people there didnt have $ for their own crib and some just appeared to like living in that kind of situation. shyt, some had been there for years.

the rooms were kinda ehh (bunk beds and shyt) but depending on the time of year, some of these spots dont get filled up so the rooms are not totally filled. you might consider a shelter but some of these spots might not be for you. the hostels will be 99% young people that you will feel cool around.

but when you get up in there, dont get super comfortable. focus on getting your bread up and saving it.

make some friends and chill (not sleep/crash) at their cribs as a way to blow time so you're not just wandering the streets and blowing gas.

if possible, get a cheap ass membership at planet fitness and take you showers there (and obviously workout too). and wear some flipflops to protect your feet in the shower.

since you got a job, i assume you have a desk, so buy some grocery type food and keep some of it in your desk (canned fruits/veg, bags of granola, things that wont spoil)

spend $ on shyt you really need. if you got a phone, transfer that # to a cheap ass MetroPCS plan for like $35 a month and dont fukk with AT&T/Verizon

make sure youre playing tickets for your car (if any) because you dont wanna wake up and that shyt is towed or has a boot on it. tow fees will fukking kill you

good luck homie

i actually already am on "calfresh" food stamps but the cism out here is ridiculous, this arabian mofo at 7-eleven said something about me paying with ebt before he even know i had the shyt :dahell:

and im paycheck to check cause i pay a car note, insurance, 24 hour fitness membership, cell phone (how im posting now) gas for my whip and i just had to find a dentist quick fast for a root canal that cost 5 bills and on top all that my license is suspended for unpaid tix so i gotta drop about 700 total to get that back

for you guys living in your car where do you park your vehicle at night? that would be the scariest part of sleeping in your ride and getting jacked
