So is every NBA Championship going to have an asterisk now?

2015 - GSW (they played against injured teams)

2016 - Cleveland (Draymond got suspended/Steph wasn't 100% healthy)

2017 - GSW (Superteam)

2018 - GSW (Superteam)

2019 - Toronto (Durant & Klay was injured)

2020 - LA Lakers (in the bubble)

2021 - Milwaukee (Nets, Lakers, Clippers, Nuggets & other teams top players injured)

For the record in my opinion the only Chips I'm side eyeing out of those I listed are the 2017 & 2018 stacked deck, superteam Golden State Warriors. Notice I didn't say it was an asterisk just some :shaq2:shyt. But at what point is this gonna stop? And what does a team have to do or go through to not have an asterisk
Championship?

Funny how these injury asterisks only apply to the brand name players when there’s is inevitably always going to be someone to step up and have a moment in a series along the way.

if the whole Nets starting 5 gets hurt then that’s on them for getting injuries at the worst fukkin possible time. Just show up for the playoffs if you’re that fragile. Or do what the Lakers did and give the head trainer the boot since you gotta scapegoat someone for these guys falling apart all year

History has always been written by the winners.

20 years from now no one's gonna say "bbbut no Kyrie or Love!" when they discuss Chef & Klay's first ring or "bbbbbut KD went down!" when they discuss Kawhi winning in Toronto. It's been proven time and time again, even the bubble jokes will fade away like tears in rain.

That's what I'm saying it's not on Giannis and Milwaukee for example that Harden came into camp outta shape and when the grind got the hardest he pulled his hamstring. It's not Kawhi and Toronto's fault that Durant and Klay went down with injuries in 2019. That was out of their control. It's not the Lakers fault that a once in a 100 year pandemic hit and teams had to be confined to one space in the playoffs.

the only one is the Lakers. not their fault, but i think it was clear the bubble affected play

injuries happen, teams making a deep run play over 100 games. Harden is a blimp, and Irving is always hurt. not exactly fluky, it should have been expected

I hope you're right. It's hard as hell to get to the Finals and seal it with a Championship. Let the players have their time when it's earned at the highest level.
