In that case a preference to be alone should be changed because it doesn't conform with a societal norm? Where are you really trying to take this? That doesn't sound very tolerant...because for sure a few people being anti social when the vast majority are social is going to destroy the well-being of the public.

The well being of the public, again, you're insinuating a preference is a guaranteed determinant!

I am questioning why, then, in this "ultra accepting society," is a homosexual preference is not condemned while a pedophile is?

in another of your posts you mentioned locking people up, so the context of your remarks is very loose.

anyway, in what way is a pedo's preference infringed upon outside of prosecuting his actions?

the preference itself is condemned because it is not based on the mutual pleasure of consenting partners, it is inherently predatory because one of the partners cant consent. it is a preference of predators.

we, as a society, support money hungry people doing industrious things to get more money, we do not, however, support money hungry people with a mindset that wants to get money by theft. we like it when they find ways to get rich by selling products or services that offer some value to the consumer. theft just robs us. apply that to matters of sex...

i think so. i think predatory thoughts have a tendency to turn into predatory behaviors in enough people that it is worthwhile to create a non accepting environment so that those pedos who are not very about that life will choose somewhat more socially acceptable outlets for their preferences like "barely legal" and "18+" porn that may have creepy undertones but involves grown women.

i do not, however, think we should just condemn people for the sake of feeling better about ourselves, and i think we should be making counseling very attainable for those who want it, and we should continue furthering our knowledge of this mindset so that we can do a better job fixing it.
