So I'm watching "The Wire" from start to finish...

I've only seen the whole show once. I'm thinking of copping the boxset and rewatching the whole thing.

In season 1 tho, half the time I couldn't understand what Stringer was saying. I dunno if any of u have noticed it but since he's a British actor trying to do an American accent, he would mumble a lot in the 1st season IMO. He got better at it afterwards but the 1st season he seemed to mumble a lot.

Top 5 show for me. Even season 2. took me a few episodes to get into it but looking back I like it as much as seasons 1,3 and 4. Season 5 was kind of a letdown and the serial killer thing got ridiculous, but still was entertaining and wrapped some things up.

Definitely agree with u on that. Sopranos sh!ts all over The Wire. But The Wire is still a pretty good show.

I'm gonna start on The Shield pretty soon. Is The Shield better than The Wire or the same or what? Anyone know?

three perfect seasons. no other show has had three perfect seasons, clearly the goat show.

people sh!t on season 2 but i think season 2 adds to the shows greatness. it shows the drug ish from a caac perspective as well.

I got no problem with someone considering "The Wire" the GOAT but season 5 was border line awful and nowhere near the other 4 seasons.

Yeah, please try not to get too in depth with the spoilers. Fortunately, I only read the first sentence and I quickly stopped.

But yes McNulty is an egomaniac in love with his own "brilliance". And hell yes I ride with Stringer over McNulty! McNulty is a poster child for "I will plant evidence, break any law, do ANYTHING to make my case". Granted Stringer and Avon are breaking the law, but I always ride with the bad guy over any type of law enforcement, I guess it's the hood in me. It probably has to do with my problem with authority. How is a cop going to enforce the law when he is always above it? The lines become so blurred that he is no better than the criminals he's trying to bring down.
