real talk fukk it, unless you care.

I'm not worried about my credit, I use to till I got laid off and it was either pay them bs bills or eat.

I was sending what I could to one of them places, and they said they were gonna sue, I told em do it. I don't have shyt lost everything when I was unemployed and besides a bankruptcy lawyer won't cost shyt (if you're deep into debt)

Yea I was going to say this as well, idk why they even took it this far for only 200, so if you wanted to be an ass idk how this works legal but you can represent yourself (again idk how this works) and make them lose out for having to spend money for an attorney over 200. Again ive never done, neither would I advise it and i dont know if and i dont if it will work out that way, just an idea.

Whatever you do, if you get a summons, go to court. You can go in with someone saying you owe $X and they mess around and get an automatic judgment that's MUCH more than that. They also give you a chance to sit down and negotiate a deal...which I noticed most of the people who came in there did. The relative of mine didn't recognize the bill, and wasn't going to go. They went, worked out a much smaller amount and they learned that had they not gone it would've been more than 3x as much. I don't know how you can claim someone owes you xxx but get there and suddenly claim xxxx. They didn't expect them to show up, but they did.

Most of those phone threats are empty, though.

get a call from some law-firm in Los Angeles this morning talking about I owe money to a training company when I went up for a job at Cadillac.

the total was $400 and change for the course but I only paid half up front.
long story short I didn't get the job.
I tried getting in contact with the training company but never did, and I even went as far as to go to my bank to try to stop payment for the first $200. which I didn't get back.

I signed a "contract" saying that I owed the full amount due, but in that same contract stated that If I wasn't hired by Cadillac it would be the training companies responsibility to find me a job placement with another company.

my question is what's the worse that could happen if I don't pay anything period?

Are taking you to court to start garishing your checks

I never heard of a debt collector suing over $200. If that's all you owe they'll probably take half or less before you see the judge.

This is a scam. You were told to pay for training for a job you didn't get now they're suing for their fee??

Call their bluff...I honestly doubt its real; ask for proof of the court filing, FURTHERMORE, unless you've been served papers there is no lawsuit.

this

if you aren't served, no lawsuit

they can't even touch your credit report and they know it, that's why they are threatening you with one of those cheap ass law firms

I want to reiterate that this is simply part two of their scam. You never ever pay for training at a job. They will probably send you bills but its all within merit. Demand to see evidence of said contract terms and conditions if they escalate the issue.

Fear not. If they call back be clear that you are aware of their scam and that you have no further responsibility to pay, and they have no recourse.
