I thought the whole point of the Superman, Batman relationship, was that Clark keeps Bruce from going over the edge. Well Superman already killed someone in Man Of Steel so he's willing to cross that line, what's the point of adding Batman, Is Batman going to be Superman's conscious? If so hows that gonna work, when Supes get's tired of that nikka and drops a building on his head.

Man DC can't get right.

Superman killed Zod in the comics too and it messed with him for a long time. I think (in my opinion) that's when we started getting the unsure/hesitant to act/make up his mind Superman. When you've been taught to save people and never to cause death it messes with you. And like the other person said that will be the cause of him swearing never to kill again.

i did think it was kinda interesting that in one breath the movie was likening him to jesus and then in the next breath he's seen savagely breaking someone's neck.

was that there way of saying superman ISN'T jesus? that he's still only human?

or is it not even that deep and they just wanted to give the climax a very loud and definite conclusion.

either way, it wasn't very well executed and i hope that it is not a major plot device moving forward into BVS. but sadly i'm thinking it may.

I'm more worried about how theyre gonna manage to fit like 6 Justice League characters plus Batman and Superman into one 2 hour film

you forget lex, that is one of my biggest fears as well.

discounting the fact that he is being portrayed by someone that looks awfully young compared to superman, i was kind of hoping for lex to be his primary adversary and not batman. in a perfect world batman would be to BVS what two face was to TDK, a secondary adversary but the main beef was between batman and joker.

and who knows it may still play out that way, but i can't see lex getting near the same amount of screen time.

imagine if they didn't go batman so soon and they really gave us the legit mos sequel. man of tomorrow. shyt woulda been the superman version of TDK. superman and lex luthor both fighting each other for humanity's trust.

Well, a lot of Superman's history/orgin can be likened to Jesus (son sent by his father to help save humanity). And a lot of characters look at him like that. Batman and him have had plenty of arguments where Batman has told him to stop being hesitant and be that type of Jesus/authoritve figure because he knows people will listen, be inspired, and do what Superman says. I know people see it differently but I think it's true. Superman is actually Clark Kent while Bruce Wayne is actually Batman. But that's a whole different topic/argument.

right but jesus would not kill under any circumstances. he would sooner die for your sins.

if you wanna go the jesus route, you can't betray that aspect of the character.

either he's jesus or he ain't.

FWIW my ideal version of superman does not kill. but i understand that should extreme circumstances present themselves, and there was absolutely, positively no other solution...and saving the human race required it...then I imagine he would.
