I grew up in BK NY and my kids were born and raised in MD. They used to love Papa John's and their mother and I (also a native NYer) felt we failed them as parents for liking that bullshyt. There's a shop close to where I live called NY Pizza and it's close but no cigar. But whenever we order pizza, wifey and I try to get it from there. My kids didn't like it. They would beg for Papa Johns. This made us feel like failures even more. My oldest now goes to school in NY and she's been converted and can't believe she ever liked Papa Johns. While in NY for a funeral last May, I took my youngest to one of my former favorite joints on Dekalb & Washington and her mouth can't even form the words Papa Johns. I say this to say anyone endorsing any of these chain places.......doesn't know any better. You can't miss what you never had and since you been raised on bullshyt pizza....bullshyt pizza is all you know. It's your parents fault. It was my fault. But I looked in the mirror and made a hard choice and did something about it.

And for the record, just having a pizza shop located in 1 of the 5 boroughs does not automatically mean the pizza is good. I've had shytty slices in NY plenty of times. That's like me telling my Bmore heads I can get a good crab cake anywhere in Md.
