Not sure how they're both in the same league when it comes to records. Marciano was fighting heavyweights. Floyd's record is still incredible but you can't really compare one to the other. Totally different weight classes and totally different rules...They were still hitting with basically bare knuckles up until the late 70's with the glove padding that was used back then.Another thing, this whole Marciano having the undefeated "record" and Floyd being able to break that is utter nonsense when you think about it as well.
Man y'all are talking crazy. I would love to see this spectacle. I think Danny hits Floyd with enough hard shots to force him to fight. At least that's what I'd hope.
Man I see you in the OG thread breh you really think this? Swift doesn't have the speed to hit Floyd flush onceMan y'all are talking crazy. I would love to see this spectacle. I think Danny hits Floyd with enough hard shots to force him to fight. At least that's what I'd hope.
Danny throws different. He pivots the elbow and swings the forearm parallel to the ground.Danny swings too wide. He's never been a problem for Floyd. He'll be eating straight rights from the opening bell. That left will never land on Floyd.
Marciano is viewed as the crown jewel of boxing to a lot of people.
To surpass that might mean a lot to Floyd -- not only as a boxer, but as a black man.
You gotta know that a lot of people were glad that Marciano took the shine off Joe Louis.
Fair point. That's not what I meant necessarily. What I'm saying is Marciano and Mayweather both won all of these fights in a row, and are championed because they retired undefeated I suppose, but people completely ignore the fact that Julio Cesar Chavez won 87 fukking fights in a row to start his career. He was 87-0. You never hear that shyt mentioned any more. That's the real streak here, the average person would think 50 wins in a row was the GOAT streak. I understand Chavez lost fights after that, but to me it's irrelevant.
floyd would make such easy work of garcia
thats like an amateur vs master of a craft
id rather see floyd v thurman, but prolly be the same result
Fair point.
Maybe people just assume that Chavez fought inferior competition.
I'm not saying that's necessarily true. 87-0 is damn good no matter what. And Chavez won his 1st title in 1984 and didn't lose until a Split Decision with Frankie Randall in 1994 (or, perhaps to Pernell Whitaker in September 1993...depending on your view).
I agree Porter is gonna give Thurman hell but bruh blueprint on how to outbox Porter is out there. Floyd would dominate Porter on some 11-1, Canelo career re-evaluating beating, Porters too slow. Basically, a bootleg BATB, who has enough speed to have Floyd work and would still lose 8-4 to Floyd.Thurman can't fight on the inside consistently. Fights against Guerrero and Collazo have proven that. Floyd would purposefully stay in his face. Keith is now a boxer puncher, no longer a head hunter. I think porter embarrasses thurman when they fight. Porter would make floyd work. Thurman, not so much.
