Honestly, I prefer the 80’s and 90’s.

Great tech today but it don’t really matter much anyways because it additionally means more tech to screw you over too.

A bunch more ways to scam, A.I putting people out of work, etc.

If I had my Computer Science and Electrical Engineering degrees back in the 80’s and 90’s, it wouldn’t even be funny how game breaking that’d be. Now I’m competing with the entire world for jobs because of ABET accreditation being more international than ever.

Only thing I’d be missing are my Surface Pro, Obsidian and video calls.

The Truth
Nah

I’m actually in a temporary music class and we went through genres all the way up from the 50’s until now.

Just by the music you could tell it was a different time with different feelings of what was going on in the world.

Now, it feels like nothing has a real meaning. Just fake shyt, recycled music, no one really about art or having fun in society. Even white music kind of sucks… motherfukkers really be out here listening to K-Pop now instead of modern rock.

I think Pandemic actually shifted the world a lot into a negative direction in general.

Not to mention today plenty of “the tech” are nothing but apps draining subscription money from people.

I was running a free cable setup back in the 90’s and that provided more than enough entertainment at a fraction of the cost and less hassle.

shyt, the coli ain’t nothing but a 90’s style message board.

Same people all over Reddit today would be on AOL and Prodigy message boards.

Born in 83, I remember as a child people used to always record things with Camcorders, from house parties, cookouts, festivals, family events, block parties, bodybuilding/calisthenics crews, basketball tournaments, music festivals, even just the regular day to day.

Flash forward to today, the culture is lacking socially due to advancements in technologies that ended up making people more secluded/isolated, individualistic, etc.

We had NO money as kids and teens, but we walked or caught that bus or train to do whatever, like a whole lotta window shopping, compare what we would buy if we had some money, go to the malls, parks, toy/video game stores, rec centers for free juice and cookies. I don't know anybody my age who would allow their children to roam free today.

People are conflating convenience for being a better era which is asinine to me. Outside of informational/tutorial type videos on the internet, what is this convenience y’all are referring to?

Amazon next day delivering their house shoes.:mjlol: Convenience is just capitalism draining your wallet anyway it can. nikkahs doordashing now because they too lazy to cook.

The ONLY good that came out of this era was making our jobs easier and faster. And we STILL ain't getting paid to the exorbitant living costs :russ:

The coli is a weird place. A lot of complaints about the price of houses, eggs, and jobs not paying enough, but denying the 80s was better.

I need a drink

Most technology is Capitalism draining your wallet.

A.I. = Taking your job

Robots = Taking your job

Streaming services = More money

Cooled seats = More money

Uber eats = More Money

Next Day delivering = More Money

Social media = Sending you advertisements

Sure you can avoid those things, but how many people actually do that? :sas2:
