Music videos at my access and behind the scenes takes on favorite artists were not a thing in the 90's.

Having any album I want from any genre within seconds was not a thing in the 90's.

Having options outside of cable with streaming sites and Youtube.

Swiping right until I can find the perfect match to line up with a total stranger to have sex with in just a few hours

Linking up with a prostitute via IG DM instead of wandering the strip

Are you sure about this era not being better socially and entertainment wise? :patrice:
ehhh a lot of these things were better/easier a decade ago (2015). Buying p*ssy super expensive in the States now, backpage is dead, dating apps are washed

downloading is super easy but ISPs go harder now on fukking with people unless you pay for a VPN. Streaming has came a long way, I don't even need to torrent anymore. Damn near ANY movie, documentary, tv show, or anime is at my fingertips at any time. Would have been science fiction even in the 2000s.

The ease of access to entertainment and information is exponentially better but the actual content is worse and people are lonelier.

I wasn't alive in the 80s but they seem kind of :mjpls:outside of the greats like Prince, MJ and Eddie Murhpy. Reagan and modern Christian Evangelical bullshyt, AIDS, Crack Era, R&B got more plastic sounding after 1982. I'd love to be in my early 20s during the late 90s Soulquarian Era. Go see Maxwell or D'Angelo live and pull a headwrap incense burning chick. :banderas:

00s > 10s > 20s

The 20s have been ehh so far and just feel like an extension of the 2010s. It doesn’t have anything distinct that separates it like the previous decades did.

I’m 30 and I think the 2000s were the best era overall though. So much nostalgia for it which is kind of funny. Back in the 2000s I was super nostalgic for the 90s and now in the 2020s I’m super nostalgic for the 00s and don’t really care for the 90s anymore.

What’s super interesting is that the 2000s doesn’t really seem that far away. I was on a 9/11 binge a few months ago and was looking at tons of home videos and news broadcasts and that era seems so familiar and close even though it was 20+ years ago. Meanwhile when I was on my 90s nostalgia trip back in the 2000s the 90s felt so far away and like a whole different world lol.
The 2020’s doesn’t feel like the 2010’s imo COVID and the rise of AI alone are two huge developments.

People were struggling in the 80s and 90s also
I guess nothing changes
It's nothing new under the sun

WAY more people are struggling today than there was back then. I remember my folks paying $350/month for a nice 3 bedroom apartment :wow: The numbers dont lie,

The middle class is smaller today and dwindling quickly. Median first-time homebuyer age went from 28 in 1991 to 38 in 2024:wow:

Yeah, well I was there in the 80's when vinyl was dominant and I don't miss the record skipping from being scratched up at all.

And that thing you said about content being worse in entertainment only applies if you aren't digging. We aren't in the era of being spoon fed anymore by radio and MTV/BET/Source magazines. There are too many hidden gems in this era that aren't popular whether it be movies, tv shows, books or music. My favorite music in this era isn't popular. Word of mouth has us all finding streamable movies and TV shows that are dope yet under the radar. I just finished watching The Pitt a week ago. Cool show I got wind of from word of mouth. Mr Robot IMO was one of the greatest TV shows of all time but was it super popular? Not really. In this era you gotta dig to find the goods.

Look at how much trouble the brehs are in with this :pachaha:

Have you seen those threads? But yeah, everything being more accessible doesn't equate it to being better than it was then.

Hell yeah, life is good right now. :dahell:

I prefer this era, it's too convenient. I was born in the late 80s so no attachment there and what what I remember of the 90s is not enough to make me want to go back. :yeshrug:
facts. I can order anything I want whenever the fukk I want. :blessed:
