in too deep is a fun movie, but has literally no similarities to the wire.

The wire writers did clockers in 95 4 years before in too deep. And the clockers is essentially the same style of the wire. (with a lil spike lee influence)

Maybe In too Deep copied Clockers if you think it's so similiar to the Wire.

In Too Deep one of my fav gangsta flicks but the writing is nowhere near the level of "The Wire". Not is the story and/or themes really that similar unless you break it down to it's most basic nature of nikkas in the hood and that would be a stretch for The Wire given its complexities.
