It's a complimentary console.

I don't want the kids who use it as a primary console having access to that game anyway.

People buy Nintendo consoles for Nintendo games.:manny:

^ this on so many levels

i buy nintendo for nintendo games only not for some multi port shyt its their exclusives i do that for

the sony and microsoft tend to handle that alot better than nintendo does and nintendo has been a better complimentary system since pretty much n64 which was the last time it was a primary for me also

So then Nintendo lied about what the WiiU was and it's capabilities?

its clearly not an issue of capability.

The big Battlefield 4 interview: DICE leaves technology behind • Interviews • PC • Eurogamer.net

Some Wii U owners are disappointed to see Battlefield 4 is not coming to the console. What, exactly, is the reason for that?

Patrick Bach: The biggest problem we have right now is we don't want to back down from what we see as our low spec machines. We right now don't have support for the Wii U in the Frostbite engine. The reason for that is it takes development time. What should we focus on to create the best possible Battlefield experience? We are now focused on PC and the current-gen platforms, and then there might be other platforms in the future that we can't talk about...

One of them you can.

Patrick Bach: Yes, in theory, but we won't. But it's important to understand it's about focus and setting the bar. Where do you start? What's the minimum? What's the maximum? What's the scale in-between.

Tobias Dahl: We have long experience with scalability. We've always been making PC games. But we don't want to ship different games dependent on the platform. We need to set the limit somewhere, to have the lowest spec for this title.

Patrick Bach: We could probably make a Wii U game in theory. But to make the most out of the Wii U, that's a different game because of the different peripherals. We want to utilise all the power of each console.

Are you saying it's not about the power of the Wii U itself, rather, it's about the controller?

Patrick Bach: It's everything. We could potentially make a Battlefield port for the Vita. But what would that game be? Is it something we could scale down from what you saw in the gameplay video, or would it have to be a complete redesign of the whole game?

It's about, where do you put your focus? And the Wii U is not a part of our focus right now.

Tobias Dahl: Going back to the Wii U, it's also a matter of scope. We can only work with so many platforms per person per day. It's a time-consuming thing to be a multi-platform title.

basically what they are saying is

1. this is a PC game that is being scaled down to current-gen systems, not next-gen systems
2. they have yet to develop wii-u support within Frostbite. they didn't say its not capable, it just hasn't been developed yet.
3. the wii-u has different peripherals (the wii-u controller) which would take time to develop for in order to give the best experience.
4. its a matter of scope in development. basically, wii-u doesn't have the installer base required to make it feasible from a business standpoint.

if anything, they have been the most forthcoming when it comes to why they aren't developing for wii-u, compared to other devs. i dont really think missing ports of current-gen multiplatform titles is really that big of an issue. i think the bigger issue is whether or not wii-u will get multi-platform titles in the next-gen. but we will have to just wait and see.

There's no surprise here. EA doesnt fukk with Nintendo like that and rightfully so. That game wouldn't sell on the Wii U.

as much as i have hated on nintendo i cant lie i have been using my wii u a lot more than i imagined

i bought it for the kids and got them mario, sonic racing or whatever the fukk its called, came with nintendoland and that mickey mouse game.

anyways my older son has been going ham on it so that made it worth it. then me and my fiance started beasting on mario once he went to sleep and that was fun.

well then my 360 gave out so i said fuk it and bought BLOPS for the wii u

playing BLOPS on the gamepad- seriously has to be one the most enjoyable experiences i have had on a console for a while, BUT it is for one reason only that has nothing to do with graphics etc etc.

every time i tried to play anything on the 360 it lasts like 20-30 minutes before the lady or my kids are bothering the shyt outta me trying to watch something else. now when they wanna watch something i say go right ahead and beast on the gamepad while they are distracted

i can see how this probably isnt the case for most people and to be honest i wont buy many games for myself besides the usuall mario, zelda etc etc especially once i cop my ps4 or durango(havent chosen which one to get first) but the wii u really came through for me not gonna lie havent been able to game this much since i had kids.

nintendo does need to be careful though i feel like if they keep making the same mistakes there gonna get dreamcasted

:lawd: when i cop my ps4 or durango though:bow::bow:

and if the new xbox jacks nintendo with there gamepad but with 1080 p and xbox games its really fukking game over for me. copped first day

Wii U is the Gamecube HD with a ghetto tablet slash giant DS (HDTV + Gamepad...two screens) I hope nobody supports this lazy outdated scam of a system.

As a person that bought a Wii U this week and owns all Nintendo consoles, I have to keep it 100 and say that Nintendo's fan base is awful. Half of them just want to play Nintendo's exclusives. The other half cries about a lack of 3rd party support, but when its time to open their wallets its :shaq2: .

That' why you see 2 year old games like Deus Ex just now making its way onto a Nintendo console, EA shunning them, and why some games that have been announced recently are only on the PS3 and 360.

At some point Nintendo and their fans need to ask themselves why they these game won't sell on the Wii U. I think Nintendo will be okay but they have to do more than just drop exclusives and indie games. If they don't the dry spells and bad press will continue.

If Sega hadn't have been thrown in the bushes AND Nintendo were the ones who did best believe their next gen system would have been on par with PS4/720

I wonder how much longer Nintendo can stay in the console business

Either way I hope that they can keep their handheld division alive
