Well, I'd obviously have to try it out but it looks damn near the same. Also like Akademik said, the sticks always seem ridiculously sensitive, and yes, I know you can adjust sensitivity. It just always feels off.

Looks pretty updated to me. The design and layout obviously is the same e.g. button schemes.
playstation-4-controller.jpg

The main complaints most people expressed were the triggers, convex analog sticks, size of controller and analog sticks placements. All of those have been fixed besides the analog sticks being symmetrical still. I don't understand the people who complain about wanting the stick position switched, aren't our hands symmetrical?? How is having the analog stick in the top left "better"?? I believe these people held the ds3 incorrectly thus giving way to this easily fixable complaint. Eitherway the DS4 is bigger.

Game Informer suggests that the deadzone on the analog sticks has been greatly reduced and both sticks feature stiffer resistance. Thumbs bumping into each other's sticks is no longer an issue, as the analog sticks are spaced farther apart. The analog sticks have a ridged concave top that prevents your thumbs from slipping off.
Game Informer says that the controller is "Stuck with symmetrical design because the assymetrical design would cause more dificulties to interact with the touchpad without unintentionally bumping into the left stick."
The touchpad supports multi-touch and completely replaces the select/start buttons from the DualShock 3. A ridge at the end of the triggers grasps at your fingers instead of letting them slide off.
There is also a small speaker below the touchpad. The Light-bar works in conjunction with the PS4 eye to track your position and adjusts the split screen accordingly.
"Got input from Bungie (and a bunch of first party studios) for designing the DS4, Bungie really wanted to make it a controller that worked great for fps games. Writer of the article says the controller is a big reason for gamers to be excited for the console," notes Game Informer.
Overall, the DualShock 4 controller will be more comfortable and sturdy. Some components of the controller are still being refined, such as the overall weight.
What do you think about the new features of the PS4 DualShock 4 controller?

This controller is much better suited for shooters and overall comfort.

I havent watched the vid but is the controller wider? That's what I'd need, I still like the xbox stick better, but if it's wider then I can work with that a little better.

The controller is slightly bigger. Looks to fix the little issues people had with it.

How much more expensive is the ps4 gonna be compared to the xbox though? :aicmon:

:yeshrug: You tell me the PS4 nor the Xbox's price has been revealed.

Either way price is not largely going to affect my purchasing decision. Sony has already stated that they're not going to make the mistake of launching the console with the astronomical price of it's predecessor. I'd say somewhere between $400 and $500 sounds a bit good.

Either way it's not like you're overpaying for crap. I paid close to $400 for my PS3 3 years ago and I felt it did it's job. Obviously value is subjective but 1st party games, innovative and immersive console features off and online are what I care about. 3rd party games I'll mostly dabble with on PC and occasionally PS4 if it's MP. Me being a big gamer, I'll still have all of it because I get easily swayed by hype and pretty trailers. A next gen Gears of War and Halo will make me want a Xbox as well but to keep shyt 110% I just can't fathom a Sonyless household where the likes of AAAA games exist.

I think MS is focusing on having the best ports and best online system again. Exclusives...dunno brehs. I'm assuming Sony and MS will each find some new IP that'll be a big selling point for the system like Gears and Uncharted were this gen. But with Halo kind of losing steam I think MS needs something a lot bigger than Gears. They need a big time, flagship title. Right now it just seems like MS is like "aite yall wanna play CoD and Madden right" but they need something else.

PS4 is winning the mindshare right now brehs. I don't got a horse in this race, I'm a PC guy, but my console friends are all in the PS4's corner right now. Most of these dudes shaaat on the PS3, even those that bought it, but they're liking everything the PS4 got going for it....MS better deliver next week or else...

It's obvious Sony is doing the same thing. The reason the PS3's online infrastructure isn't on par with the 360 is because they didn't design the system with Online as a big priority as it should've been. Splitting up the memory in the PS3 was a huge issue. It's obvious that Sony has learned their lesson & the hardware limitations that held back the PS3's online service have been fixed on both the PS Vita & the PS4.

I'm not sure they've learned their lesson, Sony is still rigid as fukk on criativity. Let's hope they don't focus on social shyt so much, but more on gaming online stuff.:sadcam:

The guy who ran Sony's gaming division when the PS3 was being designed & launched is no longer working for Sony. The issues the PS3 had was the main reason he was forced out.

Even if you think Sony isn't creative enough, it doesn't matter. The hardware issues that held the PS3's online service back are not a factor in the PS4. PSN on the PS4 will be able to match whatever Xbox Live on the 720 does or even exceed it.
