Nah really...Drake is probably giving more exposure to African and West Indian artists and producers...and other world producers and rappers...which makes it hard for me to hate on him as of late.
:wow:

The weird thing that people who are familiar with Afrobeats / Dancehall will notice is that Wizkid was sounding like a carribean artist more than an african on One Dance. I didn't even notice it was him at first

Drake does this EVERY fukking album. He is a rapper, but also a pop star. He reinvents himself EVERY album. He has his baseline of Drakeness in every album with different twists. He should get props, like he should get props for showing love to different cultures in his last albums.

I've been losin interest in rap, this might be a good substitute. Is there a thread with music like this?

Dude. I've been trying to put dudes on game like forever.

Please google Wizkid, Davido, Olamide, Mavins, P Square, Iyanya, and Flavour. They are probably the biggest stars in the genre. Check out websites like:

www.jaguda.com for info on hot music. Some of my favorite songs are:

I could go on all day. Afrobeat is a multibillion dollar industry at this point. Popular acts are insanely popular all over Europe, Middle East, and Africa. US is behind the curve on this one.

All my Htown dudes hit up Belvedere on Friday nights for an awesome afrobeat club.
