So are people really checking for a solo Ant-man movie?

oh and since it was mentioned........Age of Apocalypse is probably one of the most overrated comic book stories ever.

Hardly anyone even remembers what the story was even about, they just liked the "XTREME" versions of the characters in those books.

Days of Future Past was a similar and far superior story.

just using those as an example. But I'm tired of origin stories and stuff like that. Lets see Marvel Civil War, Xmen v Avengers, Dark Reign or anything more interesting than the basics.

I don't have anything specific in mind, but they should be trying to find a comic story arc that they could bring to the Silver Screen in all its glory

People seem to forget who's directing and writing the movie :shaq:

Well in order to introduce certain characters you HAVE to do origin stories. I think it'd be a mistake to assume that everyone knows the origins of these characters, especially the more obscure ones.

For instance you can't just introduce Black Panther and expect people to know the background of that character and everything he's about and represents.

I will say though that Hank Pym is a character that doesn't need an origin movie. "Scientist creates technique the shrink and enlarge things" that's pretty much his origin, there's nothing else of note there.

I think Black Panther and Ms Marvel are the only other classic Avengers that could carry a movie on their own.

The new Avengers on the other hand have a few characters who could carry a solo movie. Luke Cage, Dr Strange, and Iron Fist could all carry movies.

A movie based around Namor is one of the dumbest ideas that just wont die. I like Namor, but you'd be hard pressed to think of a good Namor story that doesn't involve Captain America, The Fantastic Four, The Avengers, or the X-Men. The character just isn't interesting without other character to play off of.

I also see an Inhumans film as being destined to fail. Marvel seems dead set on trying to get concepts to work in the films that barely work in the comics. They got lucky with Blade, but that shyt isn't likely to happen with Namor, The Inhumans, and Guardians of the Galaxy.

:manny: It's Hank Pym tho. He's like... right there with Iron Man and Cap as the quintessential Avengers.

No he not.

He's a founding member but he's not on the same level as Cap and Iron Man.

Cap, Iron Man, and Thor are the Avengers BIG THREE.

After that it's Wasp, Hank Pym, Hawkeye, Vision, and Scarlet Witch.

The tier below that is Ms Marvel, Black Panther, Wonder Man, Beast, Quicksilver and She Hulk.

Characters like Black Widow, Black Knight, Hercules, Falcon, and Hulk have grossly overrated histories with the Avengers.

In the case of the Hulk he's fought the Avengers more than he's been on the team.

Quintessential != popular. Is Hank Pym as popular as the big 3? Of course not, but he's as vital to the Avengers' successes over the years as any other member, imo.

Edit: Off-topic... your post kinda reminded me of when Quicksilver left Avengers to join X-Factor. He was dropping, "The team will have to somehow go on without me. I'm joining a team known as X-Factor." for like 3 straight issues and nobody gave a fukk.. They were all like, "Oh aight man good luck. :tu:"

show some damn respect, Edgar Wright > every single person associated with a Marvel movie to the point. That includes Shane Black, Joss Whedon, John Favreau, Kenneth Branahahanahahahanaugh, etc. etc.

That could be done in the confines of an Avengers film. Just build up to it. Have Pym's work with A.I. be mentioned in Avengers II, have a couple android appearances in other Marvel films and the S.H.I.E.L.D. tv shows then have shyt jump off in Avengers 3.

I agree with him not really needing a movie but that doesn't mean I'm against it
