I don't know why people keep suggesting we go somewhere else. That just puts us back to square one, under the thumb of some random owner who could any day just leave like they have here. The only solution is to make a new website all by ourselves, run by ourselves and for ourselves. We can't expect random owners with no connection to The Coli to give us a sympathetic ear when it comes down to it.

But that's exactly the vision for the new forum. All functions working properly and opened registration. A collective ownership model so we don't run into this same problem again.

It's better to run it ourselves than to jump ship to another pre-existing forum with it's own community, which will probably end up the same way as this one, dying. We ourselves need to be in charge, that's my whole point.

I've got the vision and I'm willing to donate to it. What I don't have is the technical skill to create it. But others in this thread say that they do know how to start and run a forum. I say we should all pool some money together and back them.

Some individuals dont have time for some to "create/figure it out". No a dis just think some need to look at this from different perspectives. Bottomline, Most missed the point that this site been in need of an UPGRADE. Compare & Contrast with the other forum and this one. If you read my post and not scurvy over it you'll know that the problem started between late last Tuesday/Wednesday and it not just the Avatars. Music uploaders had a problem YEARS AGO with uploading Music in the music section as I explained before in this thread. Now its album artwork that fails to upload and you get "500 Internal Server". Someone actually posted what need to be dis by the admin or whatever in the "500 Internal Server" in the Event Staff section.

If these site dies I'll probably be elsewhere or not posting anyways.

so i discovered that gif which is hosted here still works yesterday.

something tells me whoever is managing the site (brook or whoever) just limited file sizes that could be uploaded or something which broke all the larger file size gifs with no announcement... probably to save money on hosting.

aka it was intentionally broken.
