I feel like you could get a 1st rounder for Kanter though.

Also if they attach Ferguson and Abrines that could be a pretty good haul

I'm not taking Kanter unless both Ferguson and Abrines are part of the deal. I know he can opt out next year but I can't imagine anyone paying him, so we're prolly stuck with that redundancy on the roster for two years...Ferguson and Abrines are really intriguing though, throw in a first and it's probably better than what Houston and cheap ass Morey are trying to offer.

We'd had a team full for 2's tho. Does Ferguson project to be a 3?

I mean he's not that bad of a contract compared to his production. Teams could use him as a scoring big. Like the Suns for Bledsoe......

He's 6'7 so he has the size for it. He just needs to bulk up

Nah, Dirk was a unicorn. He just wasn't a white 7 footer with range. His ball handling and agility was that of a wing player, he could run the floor, he could bring the ball up, hit post fades, he could cross you over in the half court. Also, Dirk in his prime was a better defender than given credit for, no he wasn't a great rim protector but he was a smart, tough team defender. Also, Dirk was a great defensive rebounder, it was on the offensive boards where he lacked because he played away from the hoop, just look at his numbers if you don't believe me.
Young & Agile Dirk Nowitzki

KP still has to work on his upper body strength and ball handling, if he wants to get on this level because dude is literally a 7 footer going coast to coast, and bringing the ball up the court and casually draining jumpers. This is KP's potential, but the thing he is he also has the potential to be a Rudy Gobert-like rim protector.

I saw Dirk's entire career. I was in the military stationed in Texas when he was rookie so I saw a lot of Mavs games and his development into his prime. I know all about him. If I didn't think highly of his game, I wouldn't have used him to compare the current situation of some posters not willing to include an unproven 8th pick in a deal for an established all star. I never said he was "just" a "white 7 footer" with range. I said he was a great scorer. Since dude is trying to make him a unicorn, I mentioned he wasn't the the first white 7 footer w/ 3 point range. Yeah he could handle the rock well too. Part of what made him a great scorer. But if we remove color from the equation of "unicorn qualification", brothas like Derrick Coleman and CWebb were crossing up ppl, were agile bigs with 3 point range, and both were far superior passers to Dirk. So I really don't see what could possibly make someone think Dirk was a unicorn unless it's the fact he's white. Anyway bringing race into the discussion was far from my intent in my original post. Let's let that part die.

I agree with KD (a true unicorn) dubbing Porzingis a unicorn. KP's fluidity and shooting at his size has never been seen. Definitely not along with the rim protection he provides.
