I think he would be horrible in a pass first offense

Yeah he needs the ball in his hands to be effective and he's not a great passer, but considering how little talent the Knicks have now I don't see why he wouldn't get plenty of opportunities to get his in certain line-ups. Plus he can play strictly as a 2 guard here, so he won't look as terrible defensively anymore. He might not be a great fit long term, but the Knicks can always build up his trade value and trade him away later for an asset, the Hinkie way.
