Didnt really know how to fukkin name this thread, but I already tried to look at some of those reused verses on that "Doggfather anniversary" thread, so in here I'll add some more examples over time. Everyone who also knows somethin bout those songs or speculations regarding the recording, writing etc. can contribute.

@JMD
@Deltron
@DPG
@Da King
@DPG4Life

My first topic are those songs right here:

Retail Version

OG Version

Thats the original version of "Dogg Pound 4 Life", Daz & Kurupts verses were kept for the retail version but Snoop used a different verse, because on this song he spits his second verse from "pump pump". This original version was also made in 1993, so I dont exactly know which song was done first but they couldnt release the same verse 2 times.

Retail Version

OG Version

The verse snoop spits on the retail version of "Dogg Pound 4 Life" is also featured on "O.G." from Daz' RRGB album. Originally the song was just a snoop & nate dogg track, daz added his verse into the song (and cut snoops last verse) when he made his album. I think when Suge was locked up Daz had access to all those tracks & therefore he used that song for his own album.

That song was done during the Doggfather sessions, but snoop also used those lyrics on that song "Gangstaz Life" which leaked now. I dont really know which song was done first, maybe they did the "Gangstaz Life" song first but snoop just used the middle of the song to make a new song out of it (OG, maybe they had already decided to cut "Gangstaz Life" and wanted to use the lyric on another song). Or it was the other way around, and Snoop actually chose to make a longer song out of "OG" and Daz got a hold of that song and decided to put it on his album. Snoop also reused some of the lyrics from "Gangstaz Life" on "Dogg Named Snoop" from the "Bones" Soundtrack.

Of course "Dogg Pound 4 Life" was done in 1993 tho. Thats usually how it goes in the music/movie business. But, Above The Rim sdtrk came out in like late March 1994. So its pretty much common sense that most of the material was done by late 1993.

As for the thread, just off the dome, that Nate Dogg hook used on "O.G." was also sung by Nate in 1992-93 as they were workin on Chronic/Doggystyle.

That piano melody is similiar to "Smoking Green" by Master P, same sample maybe ?

Got two Dogg Food OG/alternate (?) versions for y'all here:

Unreleased version

Retail version

Long Beach is a mutha snippet

This unreleased track features Warren G & Tray Deee as well as Snoop & Tha Dogg Pound. Snoop is spitting lyrics from "Long beach Is A Mutha" on here (That song needs to leak btw) while Kurupt uses some lyrics from "What Would U Do". Cant really say when this was made but it has to be around 1994, thats when tray deee joined the dpgc/his first appearance was on 21st street from MWTC OST. I think they couldve worked on this song for the MWTC OST maybe at the same time they did "What Would U Do", since both songs contain shots at Eazy E. Dont know which song was first but both are dope af. Kinda insteresting to hear this alternate version, snoop is especially dope on this.

(Shoutout to the guy on dubcc who posted this)

Thats the original version of "Some Bomb Azz p*ssy". In the track title it say 08 27 1993, but according to DOC its 6-25-1993 when this was recorded. On the track info on dubcc there was also the info that it was produced by Dr Dre during the doggystyle sessions.

PS:

The 213 Demotape for those who havent heard it already

Bad ass, threat & kurupt wrote the verses so I believe this couldve been a song Recorded during the lbc crew Sessions for their album but they gave it up and let snoop take the song since that was Common practice at death row (Artists giving up songs & shyt for the currently most Important Release).
So they couldve re used those verses on there own songs later on but I dont know which ones

Those first few bars he uses in his last Verse were also used on "Snoop Bounce" but thats snoops writing since he credited all the other writers accordingly so that Snoop Bounce lyrics were most likely his and threat opened up his Verse with them
