Never heard that 1st version of Doggz Day Afternoon :ohhh:

Kurupt uses some of his lyrics from What Would You Do? He straight killed the retail version:wow:

Yeah that song is dope, kinda cool to hear new verses over this classic beat.

Does anyone remember when West Coast Party by Dr Dre leaked it was for Detox it was suppose to have Eminem

I think some London CAC stole it and uploaded he's own verse on YouTube , not sure if it's still there

Another famous song from the Death Row days, "Head Doctor". The song was supposed to be on "Tha Doggfather" but they pulled it off, I think it was due to some sample issues with the Original Version. The first Track is a demo for the song I think, its a very basic beat and snoop adds a lil bit of a "Gz & Hustlaz" verse at the end of his two parts and since "Gz & Hustlaz" was a freestyle maybe this demo was done not too long after the doggystyle sessions were over so he reused that little bit as a kinda bridge. The third version was released on "Dead Man Walkin" & "Death Rows Greatest Hits" with Suge replacing Snoops second verse with Swoop G who was down with Death Row at the time and later went on to diss Snoop with Lil C Style on various Death Row compilation songs. The OG version is my favorite, that Beat is smooth af and Snoop floats over the beat.

This gone be a bit complicated:

Snoop solo version, recorded during the Chronic

Version where RBX spits one of Snoops verses

A song that Snoop recorded during the "Chronic" sessions, I think it was produced by Dr Dre but I'm not 100% sure. They obviously shelved the song in the end so it stayed in the vaults before it leaked (and was also released by WideAwake in 2009 on their "Chronic Re-Lit").
There is also a version rapped by Bow Wow when he was a child and around Snoop & the death row artists which is gonna leak soon.
Another song where some of the lyrics are found is "Moms Are Cryin" by RBX which was released in 1995 where he spits one of Snoops verses. Most likely Snoop gave his verse to X since his song got cut anyway so he didnt need it and the verse fit with RBX' song. The reason I say this is that Snoops song is a song which focuses solely on that "Dave" character while RBX' song is three different stories where he renamed "Dave" to Eligh. And its also some typical Snoop writing like "Zippin, Trippin, Slippin" which is a rhyme snoop would use.

Then theres this song "One Life To Live" with Lady Of Rage & Techniec which was recorded in 1994 as said in the Intro. On this song snoop spits his first two verses from nikka Named Dave as well as the hook but uses the first few bars from his part on Nate Doggs "Never Leave Me Alone" in a little bit modified version. I think Snoop wanted to use his verses on another song of his own but in the end it also got shelved. The Nate Dogg song was also done while snoop was still on Death Row so I think he went along with his opening bars but changed them a bit to make em fit with the story and then wrote the rest of the verse. On the third song "Fallin Asleep On Death Row" which was produced by Dr Dre and was recorded around 93/94 I think Snoop freestyles the song (i read that somewhere, not 100% sure) and the beginning of the second verse is identical to "One Life To Live" so I think its very likely that Snoop freestyled that song right here but the lyrics were actually fitting for the other songs and since it was just a freestyle he figured he'd get that little part out on different songs. (Never Leave me alone later on and "One Life To Live"). Would also make sense since "One Life To Live" was recorded in 94.

Then I'll get to "Midnight Love" which everyone here should know. That song was supposed to be on "Tha Doggfather" and after they cut it, it was supposed to be the Lead single from the "Doggumentary EP" that was supposed to be released on Death Row in 1997. They also shot a video for the song which should be well known. Interesting fact: The first verse snoop spits was written by Bad Azz who was originally gonna be featured on the song. In the end they took him off and had Snoop spit his verse. I read that on some old website were they announced the EP which was already complete with a tracklist where it said Bad Azz was gonna be on the song. In the end the EP got shelved anyway. I wonder if theres a version with Bad Azz or they decided to cut him out at the very beginning. Snoops second verse is from "nikka Named Dave" again. By the point they recorded "Midnight Love" all the other songs containing this verse were in the vault anyway and were never supposed to be released anymore so Snoop finally put it on that song which also got an official release. One year later a part of the first verse from "Midnight Love" was used on the hook of "Dont Let Go" off his first NL album.

Finally theres also this on air freestyle from westwoods radio show in 94 were snoop spits his second part from "Fallin Asleep On Death Row". I dont know which "song" was first, this freestyle or "Fallin Asleep On Death Row" but it wasnt that uncommon to fill space with some lyrics from unused songs on air.

Damn that post got a lil long

yeah I like theSoopafly and Tha Dogg Pound version better:yeshrug:

The version originally going to be released on Chronic 2000 had Dre, Tha Dogg Pound, and Tha Realest on there. With Dre suing to have them take off any remixed tracks ("Ho Hopper" w/Doobie & Top Dogg, "Die Motherfukker Die" w/Top Dogg, and "Rat-tat-tat (Remix)" w/VK), that version was scrapped, and they rerecorded a version with Soopafy & Tha Dogg Pound.

The sample used is "If I was Your Girlfriend" by Prince. Damn shame they couldn't clear it, because that version is fire.

I would say Dre because it was on the bonus DVD of the Chronic Re-Lit but I checked the liner notes and he isn't credited plus there are other producers such as LT on there
