Definetely a great event, very entertaining to watch.
One thing that was off to me was selecting "I Luv it" instead of "Gd Up".

I was hoping he would drop "now we lay em down"

both of them had other classics they could've pulled out the bag .. snoop just has a much larger catalogue

great moment for the culture .. we appreciate you x and snoopy :wow:

To me X won off the strength of it being so close. This shyt was just too fire. If Nas ever does one of these he is gonna need someone like Swizz to pick the songs cause Nas would go wit some eclectic shyt like Al Jerreau or something.

i was thinking to myself that if i thought it was a tie im giving it to snoop because of the freestyles afterwards (even though they are obviously not included) :yeshrug:

i was in the IG chat too idk if people saw me :mjpls: i wasnt in the thread here last night because i was buggin out about somethin :pachaha:

2 stories stood out

1. dmx getting get at me dog from snoop :ohhh::ohhh:
2. the pharrell/beautiful origins. made total sense and was the pivot marker in snoops career to different shyt. if i recall correctly he reverted briefly with blue carpet treatment then went full steam ahead on this other shyt for better or worse

Wow Legendary ish. Did Snoop have a larger bag to pull from? Yes but in these types of battles it's about what you pick. Having a massive catalog is great but you have so much to choose from. Sure Snoop list was still fire but he left some sure fire points off too. Look X catalog isn't that bad when you look at it overall. People have to understand. X didn't have that many huge hits like that billboard charts. People brought X's albums, his entire body of work. X's LP's have some really strong album cuts on them. He played a damn intro in the battle that's how good his album cuts are. DMX's biggest Solo hit on the Billboard Hot 100 is "Party Up" which peaked at #27.

His Biggest hit overall believe it or not is his feature Lox's "Money Power Respect" which peaked at #17 (It's also X's only #1 song on the Rap Charts). "Get at me dog" and "Stop being Greedy" were Top 10 Rap Hits though. Yet his songs still felt like huge hits even when they weren't like "Ruff Ryders Anthem", "How it going down", "What these B!tches want", "What's My Name" etc. Snoop's has more hits overall and a deeper catalog for sure but X's catalog is still strong. I knew this was going to be much closer and people were sleeping on X. I was sure "Slippin" was going do damage too. "Murder was a case" was good counter too. Man X is a certified Legend. The idea he would get blown out is ridiculous. But Snoop did leave some heavy hitters off the board. That's how much heat Snoop has in his catalog. Overall, Another amazing show Swizz and Tim definitely one the best. They both looked like they were having such a good time. Snoop makes everything a party, lol.. Loved the Battle of the Dogs.

:ohhh: Damn I legit didnt know that, I just knew get at me dog charted higher, Thats how you know billboard dont mean shyt. We should never judge a rappers success or impact on billboard accomplishments, X was playing album cuts and songs that aint chart high and people were going crazy that tells you that these battles are for the culture and not the "mainstream" fans.

Its 500-1 million people in each battle, there is still a lane for that classic/ traditional hip hop and I hope people now can stop saying we are hating for not liking this new shyt or saying we are old and irrelevant. I think these verzuz battles are letting the youngins know that our music sounded as good as we been saying it did and I also hope it shows them that DMX was a problem before the crack took over his life

low key I think snoop set his playlist up to make X look good, he purposely put songs in there to lose rounds IMO

I Luv It is one of my favorite songs from Deuaces And Trayz. Just so authentically Westcoast. That late 90s/early 00s “post”-gfunk sound. I can’t really define that sound. But I just call it post-gfunk.
