That's the way your post came across but I appreciate your clarification. I don't agree with the statement of that's where his heart is though. He did 2-300 tracks through Lockdown and not what you described.
I mean who's to say what those records sound like tho, 90% of them are gonna be vaulted, but hes said what I'm saying in interviews himself, particularly around the detox pump fake where Kush was the single, if you listen to the records that have floated around from that version of Detox or the unreleased stuff he was doing for 50s pump faked album they definitely have an electronic music vibe to them. To me Dre is only as good as his co-producers when it comes to beats, hes a top tier mix engineer but his on his own signature sound is dance music, the other Dre eras all sound like who he worked with, listen to tracks that he wasn't involved in that are produced by dudes like Mel Man, Stu B Doo, Budda, The Glove, Erotic D, Colin Wolfe, Greg Royal, Emanuelle Dean, Focus, Amplifiied etc and you'll hear Sonics that sound like the "Dre sound" of those respective eras.
imo the closest thing we would ever get to a true Doggystyle sequel would be to have Snoop lock in the studio with a team (just like how Dre has the ICU) of cats like Warren G, Battlecat, Hutch, Daz, Soopafly, Ivan Johnson, Josef Leimberg, Quik and Terrace Martin and just have Dre come in at the end and mix it and swap out some drums...and at that point matter as well just have Quik mix it.
