Dre's other albums were great because the ghostwriters put in a lot of work lol (Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, Game, etc etc), but this time...it's mostly a Snoop's solo album, with Dre production. Snoop probably didn't want to let other artists write his shyt.
Snoop doesn't write his own shyt. Openly admitted it some time in the mid 2000s.

Only 3 tracks i like are Gorgeous, the Dre feature Now Or Never & The Negotiator, i can't stomach anything else as much. Compton is better, even the GTA Soundtrack stuff is better. 2/10

I cant see what the videos are, 99% of YouTube is blocked as well, anything I want to watch on YouTube i have to search the exact title of the video on the chrome app, seems to be a way to back door the hospitals filter, if I use regular Google the videos get blocked too.

That's the way your post came across but I appreciate your clarification. I don't agree with the statement of that's where his heart is though. He did 2-300 tracks through Lockdown and not what you described.
I mean who's to say what those records sound like tho, 90% of them are gonna be vaulted, but hes said what I'm saying in interviews himself, particularly around the detox pump fake where Kush was the single, if you listen to the records that have floated around from that version of Detox or the unreleased stuff he was doing for 50s pump faked album they definitely have an electronic music vibe to them. To me Dre is only as good as his co-producers when it comes to beats, hes a top tier mix engineer but his on his own signature sound is dance music, the other Dre eras all sound like who he worked with, listen to tracks that he wasn't involved in that are produced by dudes like Mel Man, Stu B Doo, Budda, The Glove, Erotic D, Colin Wolfe, Greg Royal, Emanuelle Dean, Focus, Amplifiied etc and you'll hear Sonics that sound like the "Dre sound" of those respective eras.

imo the closest thing we would ever get to a true Doggystyle sequel would be to have Snoop lock in the studio with a team (just like how Dre has the ICU) of cats like Warren G, Battlecat, Hutch, Daz, Soopafly, Ivan Johnson, Josef Leimberg, Quik and Terrace Martin and just have Dre come in at the end and mix it and swap out some drums...and at that point matter as well just have Quik mix it.

I'm not sure Snoop wouldn't be down to have a few verses written for him, hes let Problem pimp his pen pretty recently.

Even the features seem confused about what they're supposed to do or say :snooze: This album is like a sequel to Ego Trippin, except a lot more boring with no highs whatsoever. During that Blue Carpet Treatment/Doctor's Advocate era, guests just came through and killed the verse sometimes without any regard to the track itself.

No one probably expected Snoop and Dre to come with another Next Episode, but they should have at least stepped it up to that late 2000s era. This is like some post-COVID, life energy drained but at least we're still kicking it in the meatverse type stuff. Quite shocking really, never heard a rap album this dry.

Giving it an open minded listen now. The intro was giving me some hope but then Snoop didn't rap on it lol, watch this be the only beat that has that nostalgic sample flips.
