Forgot about this album. It was a good one. Tash had the talent and charisma to have more commercial success than he did. Loud didn't know how to market their west coast acts. Xzibit spoke on this on Drink Champs. Can't remember the details but basically the only reason Restless blew up is Dre secured a big budget from Loud and took over from there.

My older brother is like the biggest Liks fan on the East Coast, so this album and this song specifically got alot of burn (no pun intended) in '99. And like others said, this album is all but forgotten by most people. I was actually thinking about making a thread on how strange that is, even amongst hip hop heads. It's like it never existed. Loud really was fukking up their late 90s early 2000 roster and releases.

No way in fukk an album with a lead single featuring Raekwon and a track featuring Outkast at the height of their popularity should have had such little promotion.

The quality of the booth must be getting better, or the median age of the coli must be getting higher, cause this is the first time I've ever seen anybody discuss Tash's solo album on the Coli or on SOHH.

This shyt was hot...we need more discussion on the Likwit crew, they dont' get enough props for taking hip-hop to where it is now. Like they were bridging the gap between underground and mainstream.

Also...Outkast, B-Real of Cypress Hill, and Phil Da Agony with Tash on one track? :whew:

We do rank the boom boom
Fresh off a planet wit sand dunes and maroon moons
Soakin' wet wombs, titty tanglin' tunes
Musty underarms, soul slum charm
Bump off in the drum, rhythm on the one
Stankonians under-smellin' where I'm comin' from, son (Andre 3000)
:blessed:

I want to go to Planet Stankonia:mjcry:

For real. Especially the bolded.

I knew of this album from a review in either Transworld Skateboarding or Strength Magazine (another one of those late 90s/y2k era "action sports/extreme sports" magazines that covered skateboarding, snowboarding, BMX, and had interviews with rock bands, rappers, and DJs.) and saw the video for "Rap Life" on either BET or MTV in 1999, it really was promoted very little.

Tash was dope on the Lyricist Lounge Vol. 1 comp on that track with Mos and Q-Tip "Body Rock" too...same year.
