Relative to each person's experience, they were "good" days because of the memories. But empirically those days were not good for negros as a collective for reasons already highlighted

I wasn't there to know but you know how things get exaggerated over time. I'm sure 90% of the time when they were growing up they didn't have any traumatizing incidents and try grew up at the time not us they would know. If it was that bad they wouldn't call them the good old days.

Pretty much. This is it. If we still had that, along with the rights we have today as compared to back then?

We'd be fukking unstoppable. But instead, we took the rights and left everything else back in the 50's. Breakdown of the family unit, etc, etc.... yeah, some of this is not purely on black people and we can blame outside forces but a lot of it is nobody's fault but our own.
