It's profit maximizing to play what's hot in the streets.

Radio is not making anyone hot anymore, they watched Hot nikka or whatever it's called blow up on the internet and then added it to it's rotation.
They are not putting on wack artists, they usually put on dope artists but the songs are not picked up cause that's not what's hot among the people who listen to radio.

I don't know any young person who listens to radio either.

And from my understanding it's not flooded with negativity.
It's Drake, Chris Brown, Rihanna, Beyonce, Rae Schmurda and shyt like that.. Excluding the misogyny (or dealings with shady women aka hoes) I don't hear a lot of negativity in their shyt.
