so they have all just legit said forget creating something new I see. I'm tired of reboots.

exactly. While I am rebooted out I would think since especially in SITCOMS they follow the same formulas even include the same type of episodic content why don't creators or networks green light new things....I mean even if they rebooted the smart guy it's going to be with him as a parent and I am assuming his son/daughter will be a genius etc. Same exact thing. Like remix it and have Mo's child the genius and Mowry's kid as the Mo type or base the show around the Jason Weaver type character. I'm just hoping it's not the same thing.

I seriously hope they don't go the Boy Meets World route. There was so much material they could mine from. Hell, they had so many episodes exploring everyone's future career paths and personalities in just three seasons. To just stick another kid in the new show and make it an off-beat version with a girl genius is just lazy writing

I'm not reboot guy necessarily and as someone said, they left money on the table by Marcus and Mo not getting a college spin off. However this show was so good I'm down for this one. If the kids could be middle school aged I think it would be intriguing if Marcus had the smart kid and TJ has the "normal" kid.

Smart Guy def had some dud episodes but when it was ON POINT it was up there with Martin, Sanford and Son all them shyts....the theme song was underrated too

That said I don't have high hopes for this hope I'm wrong
