Georgia has selected fifth-year senior Greyson Lambert to start at quarterback when the Bulldogs open the season against North Carolina on Saturday, a team spokesman said.
Lambert started 12 games for the Bulldogs last season and finished the year with 1,959 yards and 12 touchdowns. He went 10–2 in those 12 games with the losses coming against Tennessee and Alabama. He played the 2013 and 2014 seasons with Virginia before transferring.
Head coach Kirby Smart was also considering true freshman Jacob Eason, who was considered a five-star recruit coming out of high school.
