Hold up are the marks really trying to paint a narrative that increasing your tv rights by $75M per year for a total of basically $1.5B for ONE show is a DOWNGRADE?

In theory it would, but The Voice is a two night show on NBC and that show does really well for them. That and RAW's consistency hurts networks. They enjoy flexibility to be able to pull the show and put on something else if need be. If NBC had RAW, inevitably they'd have to put them on USA Network some nights anyway.

RAW is gonna have to go to a streamer like Prime.

Also, from a standpoint of the league still hoping to acquire NBA games, I'm a little surprised they got Smackdown for Friday nights on USA since that's where the games would go, and you already know Wednesday /Thursday is a non starter for NBC.

If NBC gets a TV package from the NBA, I’m fully expecting exclusive games on Peacock in addition to main NBC and possibly USA.

Smackdown was the highest rated show yet they had the worst ad rates on Friday night. No wonder Fox let them go.

They could air re-runs of The Simpsons and bring in the same money if not more.

We'll see if someone wants that Raw/NXT package. I could see Raw getting scooped up by a major network but NXT :patrice:
I still think the whole ad game is antiquated, I don’t think the way ads are currently structured speak to the younger demo the way it did for the 40+ fanbase.

I think WWE should go to a network that will let them do what they want creatively for the most part and stop worrying about the ad game. WWE on Amazon prime would be dope because then they don’t have to water down the storytelling so much. They get their money up front and I return Amazon gets more subscribers

It’s interesting that WBD isn’t including AEW in the newly launching Bleacher Report tier on Max next month…might be some legs to that theory…
AEW's TV rights don't expire until end of next year, assuming WBD picks up their option for the 2024 calendar year. Nothing is going to happen with AEW on Max until that new TV deal is signed.

it would have to exclusively be on Peacock, at least on Friday now with this info. if the NBA got games on the mothership, it would have to be only be the weekends /conference finals

Ads don't speak to the younger demo because a younger demo has figured out how to block ads out if they can help it. Ads still dominate networks though.

RAW was averaging 2mil the first month HHH took over, so the audience is there bit they need something to make them watch. Smackdown being 2hrs with a better roster will help.

Wrestlenomics has been desperately trying to make AEW seem like a hot commodity for a minute. FOX is going on some financial issues right now, which explains why they didn't fight to keep Smackdown. Unless Tony is willing to take the same deal they have now with WBD, i don't see AEW on FOX tv. At most he might be able to get 300mil if FOX is interested.
That's exactly what they been saying though is fox potentially is looking for a similar product at a cheaper price.

Tony may have to decide against Visibility or their media rights number when it's all said and done.

They've been saying it but no one that covers television has said it. All that talk was coming from Meltzer in the first place, which is why it was BS from the beginning. My personal opinion has always been that if SD left the network, then FOX wouldn't be interested in wrestling anymore.
