Not to be corny, but that photo immediately makes me think about a certain era in battle rap. That type of competitive feel is hard to come by now.
Seriously I don't know how you dismiss the idea that you're somewhat frustrated about how battle rap has changed over the last few years. We are all dealing with it to some extent. 2015 & 2016 didn't produce nearly as many big moments in battle rap as the years prior to it. These guys aren't really trying to destroy each other like that anymore. That doesn't mean the new guys are untalented... but they aren't giving us that same feel.
Real talk I'm not frustrated at all in terms of where battle rap is today. We have more battlers, more leagues and more content to view than we've ever had. 2015 and 2016 has produced several classics imo and a ton of dope battles.
I'm all for the new wave of MC's to brace the stage, wether it be small room or big stage. I've fully embraced cats like Chess, Trez, Top, Brizz, Mike P, Tink, AVE, Rum, fettuccine 20, glue Eazy, Craig Lamar, etc I even fukk with cats like Reepah Rell and the resurgence of Jimz.
I understand that we will never get back the look or feeling of "the old SMACK battle" era 2009-12 years. And I'm ok with that. But certain cats that over do the "breaking up syllables" to force words in order to reach is outta control to me.
I'm willing to embrace new styles, even if they are unorthodox like steams. But this Twork dude is trash to me.
