Y'all sayin hollow clearly beat lux? Jc can beat lux? :hhh: Man lemme bring up the Jc Tay roc thread to torture you nikkas y'all on some nut shyt in here. Jc beats chef fukkin trez and yall wanna act retarded. If you think Jc can beat loaded lux in Irving plaza you need yo ass beat. JC lost to Tay roc, k shine, yung ill on drugs simply because they're top tier and he can't perform on the big stage. You think he can beat someone who is beyond top tier:pachaha:little JC is gonna talk down to Beloved:pachaha:yall need a reminder of who Jc is clearly. These small rooms got y'all delusional again.
Lux beat Hollow easily imo, but a lot of people have Hollow beating Lux, I can't lie.

Yeah it's always been half and half. Even tho a lot of battles fans now feel lux material aged better.
I feel the people who have Hollow winning are the ones that go back to it the least. I just find it really hard to believe if you watch it now you have Hollow winning. It's getting harder and harder for me to find a round to give Hollow.

FACTS

Lux' pen is designed to make his rounds sound better over time
The only battle which remained a tie even over time is Lux vs Mook pt1 imo
Which I give Mook a lotta credit for because that's very hard to do

Looking back at Lux vs Clips and Lux vs Hollow Lux vs Cal it just gets worse every time it
You got nikkas catching lines years later on some Jay Z shyt.

Basically if you have a close battle in the room you're most likely gonna lose over time.
That's just the reality of facing Lux

It's why he's every writer's dream opponent.
They all study him because most of em grew up watching him in the DVD era.

Just seeing how passionate writers like Danny and Chilla get when they talk about him and his material is amazing to see. You see they understand lyricism like none other.

You're simply not gonna out write Lux, it's impossible. NOBODY'S pen in battlerap is better than his.
Meanwhile that's JC's strongest attribute. And yes, his pen is phenomenal.
But Lux has a lot more goin for him which JC just doesn't have.

It's another strong argument why JC'll prolly lose that battle.

I hope everyone is taking a second to realize how good of a battle this actually was. Regardless of the winner, this joint was packed with bars. The crowd interrupts got old, but both dudes kept their composure and delivered their bars.

Trez was incredible, and JC started hot and managed to keep heating up.

Respect in general.. JC's last two battles (including the opponents) have been great battles front to back.

There is a famous play in the 2000 NBA finals where Tyronne Lue was defending A.I., A.I. shot a jump shot in his face and Tyronne fell, and then A.I. stepped over his body.

So JC is just saying this isn't gonna be a body, it's gonna be "one step passed a body". Really clever.

I do agree that JC needs to stop stopping all the time though. I know it's hard to keep going when the crowd is wildin, but it does hurt the flow of battles.
It's kind of extra annoying. It makes JC battles harder and harder to rewatch, and that's a crime.

I thought this was a pretty good battle, but I'm definitely not seeing in JC what a good portion of this board sees. Not saying he isn't very good/great, because he is, but I'm not seeing the incredible force some of you apparently think he is. The bars are obviously crazy but it's not like he is ever really breaking down his opponents. It may also be a personal thing (I got/had the same complaint about Ave, Nitty, K to a lesser extent).
You share that view with a number of folks I've seen post here, and it's the same characteristic. The dudes you mentioned are bar dense, therefore not every bar is a direct attack. Understandable gripe if you watch battle rap for the personals.

That said, the bar heavy dudes get more flack for this than I think is warranted. I've been listening closely to the "more personal" dudes and they have a large portion of indirect bars as well. They just weave them into street shyt and whatever so it still feels 'relevant.'

To speak on my own behalf, it depends on the battler. Case in point.

FUKK Battlerap,
Cause in the streets, I get dumb respect
I only go over my rounds with my gun connect
- Geechi Gotti

That right there I don't mind being indirect at all, I LOVE shyt like that.
Shyt like THAT'll have me stuck in that :scust: while right after that I'll get some direct shyt.

I don't mind a battler being indirect like that at all.

But I don't like battler like Daylyt that just be rhymin about the moon and stars 90% of the time
and don't attack they opponents.
Go to a cypher with that bullshyt, this is a battle nikka

That to me gives me the impression a nikka can't compete by actually battling so he just uses that
"Look I can rhyme really well" strategy which is corny (Which I don't think JC is)
