:usure: if you dont' know how many votes it takes to pass a bill and how 60 votes differs from that, how do you know what a filibuster is? you just have a vague sense of their intransigence but you didn't know what we were talking about

Honestly no google searches, i thought the filibuster was when a bill's opposition uses various rules to extend the time before a vote. i remember when I was kid, I saw some senators reading from phone books in some outrageous strategy to filibuster. if that is not what a filibuster is then so be it.

You don't need to do that anymore. You can put a hold on a bill for no reason.. it's a metaphorical (or anticipated) filibuster. I'm sorry you can't revise your on-the-record statements on this. You literally spent 10 minutes arguing about something when you don't know its mechanism. And you don't know to what it applied. Vic pointed out that even when we point out to what it's applied it turns out the GOP wasn't representing their constituents on the bills in question. This is like arguing about choices of helicopter rotors without understanding air resistance.

Public Choice theory isn't well known except within libertarian circles it seems. I think it's the best descriptive political theory in social sciences. You have to accept that everyone is self-interested, and i think liberals have a hard time with that .

:flabbynsick:

To start with, lol at public choice not being well known. I just copped a B.A. in Poli Sci as an undergrad and even I've heard of that shyt, its on the lips of every libertarian in the game right now.

please stop projecting your selfishness onto others, its demonic.

:snoop: Over and over again, you made it clear that you didn't know that it only required a simple majority to pass a bill barring a filibuster.

i didn't know that. That doesn't really matter. The discussion about why there has been an increase in said moves, and my point was.

it is happening because 1) Obama is black
And 2) he is being painted as an extremist by conservative media outlets.

and politicians are reacting to this to further their political careers, and not really to help the country. Even though i said some party line stuff in the begining, I was trying to get away from that and be more honest and less trollish.

like, i remember you made a big stink about the mandate and how it was created by Repubs.

No. I repeatedly asked should Dems do the same? Should the Senate rules change? Your answer was what? If not available then, what is it now? If blocking everything is okay in your theory should the Dems block everything too or not?

Gundum give it up son. You got exposed B. The most revealing and funniest part was when everyone on the call made you question whether there were two or three senators per state and you actually had to think about it.

Then they playfully made you question whether a senate majority was the same as a filibuster.

Cmon son. If you had any honor, you would admit your ignorance on these subjects and fall on your sword.
