i think that Rockstar was using it to test out a bunch of stuff and they focused on combat and driving.
it was a stepping stone for what is to come and it was fun to play an open world game where you could not rely on guns to just blast shyt up.

it was a beautiful world to play in.

1. It had an interesting protagonist who wasnt just the usual unlikeable scumbag like gta games.

2. It was refreshing to play a game that didn't focus on guns

3. The enviroment. It was just a nice change of pace in scenery

it had a great upgrade and fighting system. very nice graphics too. i was able to play it via my friends playstation plus account but i'd buy it to own it.

i enjoyed the fighting more on sleeping dogs, enjoyed the driving more on sleeping dogs, enjoyed the storyline more on sleeping dogs. my only gripe is the world was too small, a large chunk of the map was race track filler.

gta won with variety, online and side missions tho

Sleeping Dogs was my shyt.... I put in work on that game. That was the first game I ever really felt compelled to change close to. My dude stayed fly

it was a game that was initially cancelled and got a second chance. it released with low expectations.

it released to positive reviews. and since the expectations were low people were able to judge it for what it was. a fun, solid game that had interesting ideas. plus the hand to hand combat and unique setting helped to give it its own charm.

its a cult classic in a way.

when you got in a shoot out you really were in a life and death situation.
if you got clapped up...that was it.

if you got into a brawl then you better know how to handle different fighters.

mastering the game was very rewarding and i enjoyed it.
