The way he started out on the subject should have been a clue to himself to maybe STFU. Anytime you start off with, "I'm going to ask our audience to feel free to go ahead and condemn me, if you choose, as cold blooded and insensitive on this issue", yeah you're getting ready to walk into territory you should have avoided.
It reminds me of people who say, "I'm not racist, but.." or, "I'm not sexist, but" When you start off a sentence with a disclaimer, nothing good is going to come forward at any point after.

One of the best things I ever did was cut out those shows. I just now got Sling and I only watch games. I don’t really have any desire to watch the hot take shows like before.

You don't need a disclaimer when saying women can't be strong as men and hang in sports the same way. They do need some reality every now and then though.
