You think Samsung is going to be like, "Yeah we made S-Voice for our phones, but hey Google we'll just have users use your voice assistant instead

Hell nah, you're going to have to root for that piff.

Unless we can get an apk for that?
:yeshrug:

Well, S-Voice = Voice Search for GS3

Google Now i'm assuming is a totally different APK.

I don't want to get in the whole rooting thing, cuz then i'll endlessly try to customize my phone. But I may do it just to get Vanilla Jellybean and leave it alone.

But I do like some of the Samsung motion options. :to:

smart stay is my fa feature on the gs3
Has never successfully worked for me. I touch the screen enough to not really need it. By the time the screen would be turning off, I've already scrolled or turned the page or done something else. And video automatically keeps the screen on anyway. Pointless to me, but to each his own.

Outside of the screen capture feature by swiping the screen w/ the side of your hand, all of that crap is pointless, gimmicky and disabled on my phone.

I used the "lift phone to ear to dial" feature a couple times this weekend

Had me like :youngsabo:

I never use voice assist/voice search aside from when Im driving.

its pretty much the only place where its plausible to use it over normally searching google.

I'm glad that Google has finally gotten their shyt together when it comes to the Android platform. I always looked at it as though they were throwing everything against the wall to see what works, while Apple was attempting to add things on slowly after refining them.

I'll admit that Siri is a flop right now. But as long as the OEMs Google work with take forever to roll out the newest version of Android (ICS has been out for a year. According to a servey I saw on The Verge, only 7% of Android sets run ICS) then these advanced features won't matter. By the time the OEMs start dropping phones with ICS, Apple will be on iOS 6, Siri will be better implemented, and the advantage Google has begins to dry up.

This video matters to nerds like us who care passionately about these things. The regular consumer doesn't see this shyt. They see Sam Jackson talking to his iPhone and then ask techies like me "how come my phone doesn't do that?"
