So I was watching the Wizards/Celtcics game tonight and noticed that at certain points they would play Kevin Owens or Sami Zayn's music shamelessly.

Then I flip over to the Nashville / Anaheim hockey game on a whim and hear Tye Dillinger's theme.

Is this a new thing or have I just not been paying attention?

I thought I was tripping when I heard Sami's theme play. I've never noticed themes play during actual games but I've heard Hardcore Holly 1st theme play during highlights on Sportscenter.

I've heard Ric Flair's whooo during Bobcats/Hornets games and during Panthers games.

It happens a lot now. used to be just HHH, Austin. But now I hear Sami Zayn, Becky Lynch, and others often.

Maybe because they have fanchants as part of the songs

They've been doing it at least since the late 90's/early 2000's. I remember hearing Stone Cold, Hardy Boyz and even Hardcore Holly's themes at games.
