Breaking Bad and The Wire are the most serialized television series I have ever seen. My two GOAT's, and I prefer Breaking Bad by a slim margin only because of the silly serial killer plot in season 5 of The Wire. Definitely prefer those two shows brand over storytelling over the likes of Mad Men and Sopranos. Sure they're serialized, but their mostly structured as a bunch of short stories and character vignettes based on the same characters. Definitely prefer a tightly structured narrative arc when I'm watching my shows, and that's why I think Breaking Bad is the GOAT :manny:

Confirmed by who?:mjheh:

Season 5 was meh compared to 4
:manny:

Cant be the goat

If you're talking about "The Wire", yeah. David Simon himself admitted that.

If you're talking about "BB"....that's a pretty unpopular opinion.

Does The Wire get better after the first episode? The first episode is tough to get through for some reason

The Kingsguard Do Not Flee

You must be a "Game of Thrones" stan to have that as your signature. If we're going by your logic I mean.

Did you know the writers of that show are "BB" stans as well?

http://www.thedailybeast.com/articl...ones-weiss-and-benioff-on-getting-hooked.html

I watched the first four and a half seasons of Breaking Bad in two intense, half-marathon bursts. What Vince Gilligan and his team have created with that show is nothing short of American art. I don't have enough superlatives to throw his way.

It's been a long time since I stayed up all night finishing a novel, and that's depressing. That said, I would put Season 4 of The Wire or any of the seasons of Breaking Bad against 99 percent of contemporary fiction, and pick Simon and Gilligan as the victors in terms of complexity of storytelling, depth of characters, and memorable dialogue.

That's why I can't take any of you clowns seriously. The shows you stan, stan "BB". Now do you hate "Game of Thrones"? :russ:

"The Wire" is arguably the most densely plotted show on TV. So yeah it gets better....much better....I'd put season 4 up against any season of "Breaking Bad", and I'm probably the biggest "BB" fan on this site....but no, it doesn't get any easier to watch. They throw characters, dialogue and plot at you pretty much nonstop for the whole 5 seasons.
