Shane was ahead of his time plenty of times. Vince was a loser carny, Shane wasn't.

This. It was Shane`s idea to make wcw it's own separate brand even before they even came up with the idea brand split for raw and smackdown. Dude is smart and a good business man which is why it was easy for him to move to the other side of the world, build up his own business, and make that bread.:ehh:

Vince is just stubborn tho so he can't see the benefits of having Shane run things in the future. He'd rather have his spoiled and controlling daughter as heir to the throne over his son. :yeshrug:

Vince was actually right on this one. Buying competition makes sense but it actually would've NEUTRALIZED theirn audience where ufc legitimacy gets questioned, and wwe audience won't have the story's and entertainment theyre used to with ufc...

Wwe is more successful than ufc...they pay their talent more across the board, by a huge margin.

Agree but only until the Reebok deal fukked over all the fighters. Most of the endorsement deals they had shyt on the majority of WWE contracts. I think that Shane could have done well with UFC but for better or worse it wouldn't be the UFC we see today.

Vince takes care of his wrestlers enough to have warded off any Union threats the past nearly 30 years. UFC has poorly constructed it's pay scale and it's basically asking for one

shyt like this is a bigger reason why Shane left the company, but let the sheets tell you it's because he's jealous of trips and Steph

The only explanation we can go from is Dave Meltzer's version. Which was plausible. Shane's vision of ECW in 2006 was polluted and lead to Big Show 6 month title reign and failure. HHH having the exact same vision for NXT has been allowed to prosper unimpeded and allowed HHH to appear competent and a successful businessman.

More successful because they pay talent more, which they have a lot less of?

I'm not sure. The value for wwe is 1.2 billy. UFC is privately owned, so there's no market figure for it, but sources suggest it would be valued at more than what the E is. (Dana suggests it could be as high as 3 billy, but he could be exaggerating obviously)

Plus I dont think the WWE thing being more successful is really that much of a feather in their cap due to the fact thats kinda like "of course they would be, they been around longer"

UFC roughly had a 41 year late start.

Same with any other competing company.... they dont have that length of lifespan that the E has

True. But UFC's roster is 5 times wwe's. That makes a huge difference.

It probably cost like 3 mill at the time. What did Vince care.

No its the way you pay people per fight. These guys only fight 3-4x a year max the rest is spent training. So the money is in how well you can make people anticipate your fight in the interim then how many buyrates you accrue.

With Vince you are on a salary because you are continually working throughout the week, month, year. Some guys put in more work than others but the other guys dont move the needle enough to suggest the price. THAT is poorly constructed.

Not really, because even the lower tiered Vince guys are placed on a downside guarantee and make enough to cover the road expenses. In UFC the road expenses are going to training camp and keeping their skills up to maintain UFC level fights. That comes straight out of the fighters pockets, and even if they make a name for themselves, they can't sell space on their trunks anymore for ads like they used to. Unless you're Dana's chosen one, you gotta wait out your deal and get a Bellator offer.

Current rumored figure is higher :wow:
